| Wow. I didnt like how Gin kept making Weed fight. He could have died. But its okay now. They should have killed Hougen.. But I guess the spirits got him. |

| Comparing GDW to GNG, I believe GNG was better despite older animation. I felt like the music was really distracting at times. I initially thought having Hougan as a villian vs a non-talking bear would have been better, but I don't know. It doesn't have as much charm as GNG. I think GDW was a worthy sequel, but I wish the animation quality was consistent throughout. I know typically the best animation is in the beginning and end of a series, but some of the derpy frames of the dogs was pretty bad. I did enjoy the fact they put characters from GNG in GDW, though. I rated GNG 7/10 for reference. GDW I give 6/10. It's a bit more than average due to some good character monologue and interations. |

| Didn't think Hougen would perish so pathetically. I thought when he stood up there, he was going to roll those giant stones at them or had at least some kind of last minute plan. But hell no, heavens had their plans on him! When Weed attacked his father, I was like damn son, you'll do also that to your father. I got to admit that took some gusto from the young fella. Overall, this had a good pace that was able to captivate me in. The animation was nice like the previous season. The problem was Weed's annoying ways, although I know they were trying for that "Zen peaceful approach is better than meaningless violence". But Hougen didn't deserve any salvation, the dog was sly and just pure evil, the least they could've done was kill the bastard. Although I understood his conviction of wanting to exterminate humans, what made me abhor him was the way he treated his comrades and own kind. I guess the series wanted to make Weed as clean as possible, but meh Gin was better. Gin was also a natural born fighter unlike his son, who's like a part Dalai lama. I'm still not condoning own kinds killing each other, but war is war, some are there for just the thrill of it and not justification. The whole plot had some laughable "gusto" emotional moments, the good dog will win a fight and say some inspiring gibbirish stuff, the bad dog will cry and change his ways. TF? And what's up with dogs crying? They have more water than the Niagara falls. Liked the 1st season better than this one. |

This series has always reminded me of the Yakuza and their lifestyle, even their honor! 7/10 Now, 2023, this series would be impossible to finance and make, animal cruelty and other associations would consider it an aberration. kekeke |
