That old lady still got it.

Sweet little story with the classic worthless treasure twist. At least they got to see the magic cashew nut tree, which was pretty much a one in a lifetme chance.

Next weeks episode looking interesting again.

This is a sweet episode. The way the old lady planned for everything to go down was great too. The execution on that was on point and I loved every moment of it. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode. Something about a weird wealthy guy around mounted animals seems interesting.

I expected to see a lot more of a beach episode, but there was barely any. There were a lot of the crazy Lupin antics, but overall the episode felt a little fillery, even for Lupin standards. I liked the One Piece storyline at the beginning, it was pretty cute. So many weird moments in the episode, from the Lupin powder to the Goemon riding a giant squid. It was weird all around, and lots of fun.

Yeah, I thought about Gol D. Roger's execution scene too.

The time period of this story is a mess.
75 Years ago is 1945... Pepper were already not nearly as valuable.
Let alone by the out fits and all in the flash back, the setting should at least push back another 50 years.

And since Yatagarasu is present and the England setting is kept, it can't be a side story from way back like those in part 5...

Also random giant squids.

Classic Lupin insanity. This is the kind of episode I grew up watching.

I don't know which insane prop was more entertaining, the car through the window, the multiple squids, or the random sea turtle assist at the end.

Will this next Mamoru Oishii episode be worth watching, or just another tribute to stuff he likes without any originality? Only time will tell.

Time periods means nothing in the Lupin universe.

That's really a poor excuse.
There's no continuity between series sure, which allows less strings, however this is not even an in-season, but an in-episode issue. The series basically always sets in the "present time" of its production unless stated otherwise, this season is not an exception, the episode is set in the same setting as the season. Which really contradict with the specific number of 75 years which keeps getting mentioned, and how it doesn't add up.

This episode really would be better off handled the way they did those side stories in part 5.

So we got somewhat of a One Piece inspired episode in which Lupin's gang was searching for the Jet Black Diamond treasure that sadly turned out to be a case full of pepper. The old lady being Cherry was an interesting twist too.

This episode was so bad it was good. Felt like watching a random Saturday morning cartoon you've never seen before.

That treasure hunt kind of episode was pretty good, but well that was to expect that the treasure would be worthless after all

Which one do you want? An Addiction or A Good Life?
A) Addiction - a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure.
