Reiji's a cat-loving creep, while Teru has the perfect family that condescends on a world being a lie.

Asuna (or should I say Arshem), are you seriously still stalking the angsty Yamato to extermniate him? What a joke though that Kiyoka's more assertive that her love is real while Hakamada-sensei gets the gist quick. I get it that Arshem wants to make the first move in order for her mother to validate the co-existence of worlds, but it's taking longer than it needs to be for plot reasons.

For Reiji, his love of cats led him to the Rogue Arthur mech that he's secretly lured to by the Professor (Raider) that Reiji claims is his "dad" from a mind-controlled cat, the same facility that the trio goes to do their mecha hero duties against the same Dractor enemies, but alone. Reiji has an even extensive history with Raider who rescued him from death from the war, and into mental instability to go to full experimental mode for special powers.

The painstaking efforts of the professors pouring into Reiji's mental health being in order for him to pilot Arthur, he's a stark contrast to Yamato, Teru and Ryuugo. Battling in an uneven state of mind where the death of cats raise his anger to vent on the aliens, it's a give-or-take rhetoric. But the use of it, for good or bad intentions, I can't help but wonder if all that Reiji's got going for him to be mentally stable to protect loved ones. But it seems to be helping, so there's that even if its complete BS.

Oh wow, finally getting to the point where both Hakamada-sensei (Ibrim) and Arshem meet, and her assistant Sarzant's infiltration makes the duo alien team complete in disguise.

Progressing slowly.

I strongly dislike characters motivated by animals. The final straw for Boruto with me was when they wasted an episode having Mitsuki befriend a cat. I dropped that show but I will let this show skate by on thin ice.

What is the point of this guy? If he is a cyber newtype, let him be properly messed up. Or show him being content with something other than animals. His surrogate father is Catherine Halsey without the kidnapping and brainwashing. Either way, the kids still end up in a suit of armor at the end. With the Dr Wiley vibes this guy gives off, its only a matter of time until he double crosses everyone.
the OP is rally ugly, so skipping it for more story is an improvement. I just wish there was a better story to be told.

Our MC is either an idiot savant or incredibly lucky. All these human seem out of their league. Is it really supposed to be this easy to assassinate pilots?

The setup isn't very interesting for this show, but I'll give it a bit more time to impress me.

Last week I thought the MC knew something was up with the girl trying to kill him, but this week proved he's completely oblivious.

I liked this episode. I like seeing the backstories of what I presume will be our main pilots. Finding out that some happy families probably aren't even related was interesting and sad. I liked lonely cat loving Reiji, too. I hope he doesn't get pushed over the edge mentally.

I guess in the next episode or 2 we'll find out more about the real stalker girl (red ponytail girl) and dude with the 'fro. Eventually, I will learn names. LOL
