| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I was expecting different from the One-Shot. The manga itself mostly had that spirit only after they started dating, at some point. As adorable as they are as a couple for their intense affection, the journey of the story was awkward and slightly random. What bothered me the most was the start of it as a later continuing gag of him squeezing her breasts when they first crash into her and openly stating his love for her tits throughout. That was more distasteful than funny for how dumb it is, even though it's a tiny bit funny sometimes. What was interesting though was the conflict drama that came from it to have his love in question as honest or just lust. I personally feel her distance was somewhat unbelievable from herself and as a plot hole because I would have expected him to clear the misunderstanding of the porn mag not being his, or her sister explaining that, but nonetheless it was still a decent twist to evolve their relationship. I'm not a fan of the journey and how it started, and overall it feels surprisingly joyless for the most part. It's not really funny, and the activities are uneventful in some way. The little sister's romance was more proper even though it isn't revealed in the end which was surprising. The small age gap isn't a problem, but her middle-school self looks too young for the guy. Fortunately they look fine when she ages. The first secondary characters being completely forgotten was disappointing. I don't care much for them that much, and I'm glad the story didn't focus on their club activities, but I was expecting Yukari to be a main character somehow. I'm shocked she was never used again after she revealed to Yamada that she has a boyfriend when he confessed. Noa was a decent rival, but I would have preferred Mako to never have a rival. She wasn't very meaningful. The romance itself on their chaotic love was random and mostly held on comedic lust which wasn't really enjoyable. The art is beautiful in its own way, as is their love, with some very funny aspects, but I wish their story was better structured, with better plots, events and meaningful characters, if not a even deeper focus on just them which is what I was actually expecting. I thought it'd be a day to day couple being ridiculously candid. 4/10. It had potential, with some good points. I'll try the Mangaka's other works since I like their style. |
