| Yuru Yuri fan here. I just found out this manga is a (yet ongoing) thing and read the first 2 chapters. It would make a good anime. Any isekai CGDCT gag comedy with light yuri/ecchi elements, especially satire, would be very welcome. The execution of the premise is where I have questions. It reminds me a bit of the Gakuen Kino spinoff manga with the random explosion and kinda lame jokes. While Yuru Yuri's comedy was in the characters, the comedy here seems to come from satire of isekai and games in general. It's pretty good and I'm glad it exists, but when satire or cultural criticism is the main value, it feels more like a reflection on the human condition than brainless entertainment. The metanarrative of the game, levels, and HP being layers of the same dreamlike reality is poetic and handwavey, and sets a tone that the SAO crowd might not like. |
