| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Kusu Somewhat confusing in that, outside of Okinawa, Japan may use the word "koshu" in describing aged awamori. "Koshu" is sake that has been aged 3 years or more, the same timeframe given for this awamori, and so the term may be a catch-all for those unfamiliar with the Okinawan kusu.* Unlike sake, awamori is distilled, not brewed, from alcohol produced by indica rice and black kōji mold. *Adding to the confusion is Koshu grape wine, hailing from Yamanashi. It is unrelated. I had a jolt of delight at Kurita's mention of Banana Yoshimoto. This show likely aired during the height of her career, I'm supposing. |
