Goodbye Kitty.

This is so sick. It's so interesting how this guy ended up doing that...

jesus, this is not looking good for Sei, at all. What happens next? Is he taken into psychological evaluation just like his mom, sent to some juvenile reform? The detective at least knew from the initial questioning that Sei is troubled because of his mom but he never got to the bottom of it just yet, only Fukiishi knows that.
What is she going to say/know about all this? They made that promise to always be together, but Sei is just slipping right now and there's no way the relationship can continue like normal. That whole dream/reality delirium of the last few chapters was his fractured mindstate returning mean as ever and he wasn't able to win against the specter of his mother in his head, so now he returned back to being subservient to her prescence, it seems like a coping mechanism for the trauma.

Also, very interesting shots of that bird in the sky, what does it symbolize? The subconscious desire of his to fly away from the circumstances of his life, a chance of freedom from the reality that's sinking in? It seems pretty clear that there's an inner voice in Sei who's sort of detached and aware of how he's trying to replicated his mom, his psyche is split.

I feel like the author is milking the story. Chapter 83 when Sei and Fukiishi was on the phone was a good way to end it. I guess the popularity made the author change his mind.

I'm feeling that a bit as well, like now where do we go? I vastly prefer a conclusion where Sei is on the route to recovery, even if it's imperfect, something bittersweet where hope still remains. With this, feels like we're on the road to more mental torment for Sei or and he just becomes crazier.

How so? I mean the series is taking a completely different approach, as earlier it was quite clear that Mom was the root of all the problems, but right now it almost seems as if Seiichi is the bad guy? Or is it still Mom after all?

Personally I'm quite a fan of the mindfuckery that is going on, but I gotta be honest it's quite strange and farfetched that Shigeru walked all the way through the snow in a weakened state.

probably Sei will be in a psych ward and the people he has left, will come to visit him. I'm really interested to see how Fukiishi especially confronts this and how she will even factor into the story past this point.

I’m quite confused on where to stand with this manga now. I adored it because of course it’s Shuzo Oshimi, who has quickly become one of my favorite mangaka based on his other works, and also that this is a stunningly real approach to the effects of psychological manipulation and emotional abuse from mother to child, but with these recent chapters I’m a bit sad, I don’t know what to think or say and I’m so confused, I was hoping he would break away from the delusions his mother caused, but is he falling into the same despair I did whenever my mother manipulated me? Is this what truly happens in the end to those who are abused? I don’t exactly know how to process this, but I’m truly, truly hoping this is a horrific dream, there’s absolutely no explanation as to how Shige, disabled and still having trouble with balance, was able to make it all the way to his house. I really hope that there is hope for Sei, I truly do.

I'm also bugged by this... Maybe it's a dream inside a dream or another character played a major role, like Fukiishi or his father. Honestly, I don't want to believe that we will be left without a proper explanation, because I will be disappointed

Yeah I literally have absolutely no clue, he looked so ill, plus it was freezing cold, he really made it all the way to Sei's house? I doubt it

I really hope it's not something that is completely brushed over as plot convenience, it just so happens Shigeru shows up and leads Sei up that hill right when things were looking a little bit hopeful in his life? By the end of the story, maybe it won't be so jarring

I agree with your feelings 100%, it's also interesting how Oshimi stated in a translated interview how he carried forth some inspiration from his own life, even Seiichi's birthday is the same as his own. Oshimi didn't have an ideal childhood, he had conflict with his own mother although not to this extent, but he says he's doing better nowadays. I thought he would put a more optimistic outlook to the story, it looked like it was going that way, but we're back into the pit of despair. Like you said, I really hope Sei can find some sort of solace or path towards healing. To the contrary though, the series seems to be very critical of some aspects of Japanese society, especially stigma around mental health and how others fail to recognize what's wrong with Seiichi or his mother at various points, so this could be further expanding on that and how tumultuous it would be to properly diagnose

God this is so weird in that I was so happy with where the story was going and now I just dont know what to feel. The aunty called both sei and his mom murderers earlier so maybe it will be revealed that sei was crazy the whole time as well but honestly I just want a dream within a dream thing and my boi say to have a sad but overall hopeful future ahead of him and not 'lmao shigeru managed to walk in the middle of the night to the hill xD'

This manga went from something kinda decent to complete shit... I gotta be honest, this doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Some of the drawings are decent and then on the next page you see something that can be used for a meme or smth. Totally disgraceful, it went in my list from a light 7 to a light 2.
And I'm not really hating the author, my favorite manga is Aku no Hana, but this lacks cohesion, logic and the art is pretty bad too.
I will keep reading just because. But it's a total disgrace for me.

After her arrest, from going back to his crush, and now this, it's been kinda dull.

I wanna see the mother.
