Sasugai carried the entire Ionodai team to get their cool back? Welp, not much character development I suppose, given we're already at 2/3rd the way through.

Yokohama Super Global's Noa Kuonji pestering the exchanged Himekawa to watch the St. Clavis vs. Ionodai school team for an exhibition match...more like Shinozaki vs. Maeshima. As much as I'd like the other schools to have a chance to earn Top 2, the inevitable cliché of non-important slde characters has to be there for this to happen.

Looking as if Sasugai being the entire team's strategist is the only choice due to how predictable and overwhelmingly proud Maeshima can be, and even with Coach Adachi's persistence, that might be the only way to seal victory.

NGL, St. Clavis's routine skating is leaps and bounds better even from a last-minute change (that only reinforces the rivalry between both schools), and proving that with action is the best response from acclaimed champions.

The question now is: HOW? How can you beat THAT kind of calculation?
The final 1/3rd to go, and it all comes down to strategy.

I love when Maeshima practice too hard and he has to stripped to his underwear (should be naked!)

And the sword prop is definitely breaking the rule, I mean he's good at that but it's also very dangerous at the same time.

Loved how Maeshima fired Shinozaki up to the point that we finally got Shinozaki to do a sort of smile. How St. Clavis is scared of their potential is great. Really looking forward to how Ionodai will come out on top at the Grand Prix.

Sasugai continues to be the master tactician, please reward him handsomely.

Maeshima is determined to beat Shinozaki; however, even with a flawless routine, Shinozaki was able to perform a flawless routine to a higher degree. This was all part Sasugai's calculations so even if Ionodai got second place today, they plan to come out victorious in the Grand Prix.

Preparation were all complete. Everyone got different angle. The duo pink always made me flat expression with their eccentric preparation. While Jounouchi house looked pretty much different than i imagined, he even scared with his obaa-sama. Lol.

The match finally began. Its not the final. But, they were very determined to defeat each others. Maeshima looked very smooth this time, without much mistake like before. Thats good, to the point of its can provocated the enemy to show their real potential. Its already predicted? Sasuga, Sasugai, no surprised if he got that wicked smile on it.

The only problem is the team works execution. Can they hold it up until the very last moments? Remember that Maeshima still have the ability to copy things up. So, the final match-up will always be full of surprise. Lets see...

So Shinozaki is basically a tsundere who doesn't want to acknowledge Maeshima's growth, huh?

Also, since when theater props (it was a fake sword, right?) are allowed in these performances?

Well, I kinda liked this episode. I thought they were gonna make a mistake during their presentation, but they totally nailed it. Good job! \( ̄︶ ̄*\))

The plot is generally average, but the animation is good. I hoped to see some skating, but unfortunately there is no much and it was not accurate. Especially the quad Axel from Shinozaki disappointed me a lot. Putting an element that no one has yet achieved in a school-level competition seemed cheesy somehow.
I am also not really sure I even understood the whole skate-leading concept and didn't see a lot of character development even after 8 episodes.

It seems we won't see any skating well animated or with no weird cuts. MC sometimes just annoys me a Lot. Bad anime.
