----------------------------------------
I can't help but think of Socratic dialogue when there is an explicit conversation over abstract concepts. Ami rejects being corrupted by Alabaster, as if he wanted his worldview to be validated-later seen with the models, and she falls into a beautiful patch of flowers. He uses a flower as a symbolic representation of beauty, the unsightly roots making up for more than half. The sky? Desolate and cold.. there is nothing which represents true beauty because it, along with justice, are hypocritical notions…

Although it seems to set up Ami as the incorruptible example of true justice and beauty because she refuses to let hatred get the best of her, the despicable but hilarious Rock Holmes has given her a personal vendetta not unlike Alabaster started his journey with.

Oh Rock Holmes… I don't mean to be an annoying JoJo fan, but after having the invisible baby needing makeup, we now have a pretty, despicable boy introduced kicking a dog without hesitation, and then forcefully smooching a girl. That's the Phantom Blood Dio, it's an interesting assortment of ideas which feel very familiar.

Beyond that connection, he is another example of beautiful on the outside and disfigured on the inside, a narcissist, a racist one at that. My man could however rock a model disguise, we have to give him credit for that.
