| The fact that "wordly desires" (煩悩) is plastered on the setting means this episode is in direct link with the previous one (where wordly desires were the reason to join SNS). As a traditionalist -- since she's a youkai -- Tatami continues the critique of modern society: here it's not the technology but a formated social gathering that is the issue. At its core, the mixer (合コン) is more about getting laid than interpersonal interaction. Tatami seems to suggest any actions that comes from wordly desires are doomed from the start. In all my years of anime watching, I've never seen a mixer portraied in a positive light, whether it be in Gintama, Turning Girls or elsewhere. |
