So that's how it is with Tarou and Ririsu as a pair in the end. Too bad about Ebino, wish they gave her a chance instead. Oh well.

It was a fun journey overall. Going to miss this series.

And it ended. Was a fun ride. Ririsu looks really cute wearing that school uniform.

Finally end, ugh.
I haven't read such unnecessarily stretched manga for a long time, just like in the case of bokura wa minna kawai-sou, author has blundered the matter by unnecessarily stretching it too much, he could save us from wasting time by doing less in half of those chapters.

I liked Eve becoming part of Tarou. Glad they love each other like they should have from the beginning

I'm really glad I kept reading this manga even though it was really stretched out but seeing it end actually destroyed me emotionally and I'll really miss this manga a lot

good ride, thankfully it ended before it started to stretch out even longer than it started to be. glad they finally ended up together, but it's a little bittersweet to see it happen so fast :x

Liked the end, I'm going to seriously miss this manga. But that Tarou still can se first love zombies is surprising.

Wasn't worth the ride. The explanation behind what Eve really was and why Ririsu could see zombies was kinda messy.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Ahh. So everything comes to an end. It was a nice journey.
So Ririsu wins. It was obvious though.

A good happy ending. I'm feeling sad for Ebino. She was the best girl (but best girl never wins).

I'm going to miss this manga.

It was a great ride, gonna miss this series. It was stretched at times, but never painfully so.
I’d recommend this to anyone seeking a stranger type of love story.
So many best girls too

also thinking it was a bit too long drawn IMHO, was also kind of confused at the end hinting at a second season (tarou could still see them)? could be one of those 'make your own ending' thing here.
anime/manga version of steam would be awesome - https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1625396

Now, I don't know why people hated the ending nor the series itself but I won't judge 'ya. But in my case, I think this series is a MASTERPIECE. It already has everything you need in a good romcom manga. It's really fun to read it and it's really worth the ride. This pretty much deserves an anime so I have an excuse to enjoy this wonderful story once again.

yeah, finished this yesterday and I'm one of those people who hate this ending. I give 7/10 if tarou ended up with ebino and give 10/10 if he ended up with both of them. but with ending like this with no real conclusion at all is really disappointed me.

to keep short, ebino should deserve more than this.

overall, 6/10. at least I'm enjoying this manga till the end.

Really disappointed, was expecting monster girl ending :( rip eve, best girl
i feel really sad that she couldn't truly escape the nature of her existence, and become a real heroine choice in the end. despite coming so close - as she said, she even had enough power to touch the physical world at that point

What i don't get is
*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Why's Eve still there when Tarou and Ririsu already became a couple? She's supposed to be part of Tarou again when his love is realized, right? Or is that how it works, the Zombies aren't actually gone, but is still there, it's just they can't see them anymore again? Am i missing something?

I see a lot of comments saying it was stretched out but I actually enjoyed every second, panel, page and chapter of it! I hope the author keeps the series going or makes a spin off where tarou and ibusuki are in a relationship; sort of like an after story you know!

It's more or less like a guardian angel type thing. She's a part of him as well as watching over him as a spirit/entity. She is no longer a HBzombie though.

Yea, just finished it. I felt like the author prolonged it since the later chapters felt like they were always avoiding direct confrontation with one another. Felt like it would've resolved real quick if that happen. Would've been glad for a longer after arc, or an early reveal arc and later arcs with direct competition from the rival. Also more scenes with longer hair Ririsu.
Spoiler alert(really? you're already at the last chapter.)

My first thought even on the early chapters was initially thinking of Tarou was a coward, which might be partly true as he was mostly uncaring but that's probably because of his unconscious heartbroken zombie's influence. Unwilling to face "reality" and forgetting of being rejected, so he unconsciously formed Eve into his ideal even as a sleeping Heartbroken zombie that also affected Ririsu for 11 years, having her own "conscience" when she's just a desire, and not asking what Eve really wished for. As Ebino did say "she wasn't human, so her will isn't the same as us". I first realized this during the arc with Kyouko, when Kyouko said she was mad at Tarou's great grandfather for not going with his first love, because Kyouko said "it's what she always wanted", but because of Tarou's ideal of Eve, she says "she's different, and that she doesn't want that and want to always love Tarou", even though a zombie's natural state is "wanting their love to be fulfilled" and returning back to the person that desired them. Finally this confirmed it when in the later chapters Eve told Ririsu that "her wish was that Ririsu was actually a girl from the start" because if that happened, Tarou would've fallen in love instantly.

I actually thought Tarou would've figured this out after the arc with 2nd Amakusa Z since she didn't become heartbroken because the guy(i forgot the name) that fell in love with her didn't regret falling in love, as what Tarou was aiming for and after with his brother. That all in all, Tarou would just be happy if he just faced Ririsu with his true feelings, after realizing she was a girl.
Tarou never realized, but he made the same mistake as his great-grandfather, not wanting to realize his first love because his zombie would disappear. This strong molding of Tarou's ideal was because for the longest time, he thought Ririsu was a guy, and that she hated him.

TL;DR: Basically, this entire manga, would've ended from chapter 1, if Ririsu just revealed herself from the get-go.

I don't mind if he didn't end up with Ebino, as long as it's either with them, not a harem. A harem has a place in romcom, but from the way I see it, a harem wouldn't have done justice on this.

What I'm truly amazed is that, this entire manga was caused by such a simple reason that literally followed through the end: A headbutt.
Which is partly funny because everytime I read that it's about a headbutt even in serious situations, I just keep thinking "man all because of a headbutt".

What a great manga, loved every moment all the way through. I do agree some parts seemed stretched but I got used to it. Overall worth the read, it also gave a similar vibe like the manga Boku-girl. If you haven’t read that yet then give it a chance. They both have a similar situation involving a curse but anyways now I’m depressed that it’s over. (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`) 10/10 bitter sweet ending

*SPOILERS* i guess?

It did kinda feel a little rushed at the end like how Ririsu is in a different school now? Why couldn’t she just stay in the original school with all her friends and classmates? Also It would have been nice to have a bit of conclusion dialogue explaining what happened after they hooked up while showing Tarou meeting up with Ririsu and maybe a little more? Idk maybe I just didn’t want it to end yet and I’m just being a big baby since its over. (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

This manga was so amazing and so disappointing at the same time...
I'm giving it a 7/10 but it could easily be a 9/10 or 10/10 if the pacing and development were better.

Also, Ririsu's dad appearance was so quick and weird (???).

The fact that the entire last arc stretched this far irked me to the nth degree. It honestly could've ended way before Tarou's dad came back to Japan. But if I just did what Tarou did and forget everything after Tarou's dad came and go back to remembering the last chapter, then this'd be a 10.

I finally caught up/finished. I stopped around ch 100(around 2018) cause of circumstances but I'm glad I remembered to to pick it up again. Not exactly what I was expecting but Im satisfied.

This manga ending (or me finishing it) feels like it's leaving a void in my heart. I guess an another part of my adolescence goes with it. It was a great read. It'll definitely stick with me Can't wait to reread years ahead.

I think that was the first time I read/watched something and genuinely liked all (3) of the main girls. From how balanced the favorite counts are for all 3 I can see I'm probably not the only one who ended up liking all 3 of them. Ebino's and Ibusuki's characters grew very, very well over the course of the series and their changes made sense. It was weird, though, getting attached to 3 girls knowing that at least 2 of them were going to get their heart broken and 1 of them was almost guaranteed to disappear. There were several times where it looked like the series could turn dark with dark ecchi but thankfully that never happened. I barely even noticed the ecchiness most of the time which was an unexpected bonus. The minute Ibusuki's gender was revealed the ending became incredibly predictable, but the main characters were so good that it kept me invested to the end. Hats off for including a gyaru who was actually a decent human being from start to finish.

I can't say much bad about this series. They could have left out a few characters. Misao, Hitoyoshi, Katsuma and the playboy (forgot his name) could have been left out completely as their stories went nowhere and they just disappeared. It feels like the chapters involving them were a complete waste. Tarou's father was just an awful character that I could have done without. Some things weren't explained or used very well like how Eve could sometimes touch other zombies but others times not or why she could feel pain sometimes or why suddenly the entire class were distancing themselves from Ibusuki in the end. The reveal and handling of Eve as a heartbroken zombie was kind of sloppy. Ibusuki's reasons for trying to set Tarou up with Ebino, something she should have known wouldn't work at all, and attempt to run away just felt wrong. I had to read the ending twice before I realized that Ibusuki actually transferred to Shizuka's all-girl school. No attempt was made to explain why or even how much time had passed but I'm assuming it would have been awkward for her to go back.

All in all it wasn't perfect but it was pretty damned good. With so many crap animé being pumped out every year I have no clue why this was never animated. It just boggles my mind. 8.5/10

This was a great read. I really enjoyed it! I’m glad that Tarou finally faced his first love. 😊 Does anyone have any recommendations of a manga similar to this?

****SPOILER****

It became a little messy and dragged out at times, sort of had to push through at times but it didn't last too long - I feel it was worth the last 30 chapters or so. That last chapter was great and I honestly had a good cry at how it all wrapped up. Great to see the little bonus of them being *assumed* married and having little Rintarou who could see the zombies. Have to feel for Mei though, would have been nice to see her find someone.
