DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Can we just take a moment to realize that Kenji, Gorouta's kid, frickin' died as a child and became a youkai?!?!?!!!!! Can you just imagine the heart break, the psychological trauma that Gorouta has had to live with? |

| The change in tone from the original anime is real, the episode wasn't divided in segments and there seems to be an overarching plot in a way the original one hadn't. I loved it. I didn't expect Keisuke to become a protagonist since we already had three of them, and I don't know how to feel about the fact that he might "steal" some protagonism from Natsume since he already used her Youkai Watch instead of getting one himself, but I really liked him. He feels a lot like his father, but at the same time he is clearly his own character. And Bourei-banchou was really cool too, and he even had a sad backstory as Keisuke's friend who gave him courage but passed away too soon. I also liked the OP, and I think the ED is cool? It may be too soon to say this, but I guess that Whisper isn't going to be the "punching bag" this time since we now have Micchi. xD I wonder if Whisper and Jibanyan remember Keita at all though... Welp, this was really promising! |
