| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This last episode was awesome with such killer musick! A bit of time passed, it seems, and the characters moved apart a bit. They had their own separate lives until the final monster appeared. Cool ending, cool monster designs, awesome parts like the Evil Dead zombies, the red beast hiding in the woods, and seeing Koichi in normal life trying to live made this a great episode. |
| I found this OVA series interesting though not too amazing. I think it had a fairly decent story that kept me engaged enough that I sat through all 2 hours or so of it in a single sitting without any issues. Surprising to see Koichi die at the end, at least kinda. Sad really as he clearly feared that throughout but at least he did it protecting those he loved. I wish the Central Park Media DVD I used to watch this had better VQ, alot of the night scenes and darker indoor sequences were really muddy. Dub was solid though nothing special. I liked the OST though the weird love song playing over the final battle was abit strange. Overall Guardian of Darkness is an interesting OVA with an engaging story. It's unlikely to blow you away imo but with the right expectations I think this is certainly an OVA that can be recommended to those who enjoy Supernatural stories. |
| comparing the chinese tales and japanese tales similarities was awesome, the mcs end up as two different people tho, when i first saw the school romance drama thing i thought it would lost me but it turned out differently 6/10. |
