I love how terribly off I was with my predictions. I didn't expect Kaiji to actually follow through, but if he did, I figured he'd stop the net properly.

These last chapters are incredibly exciting! I really hope Kazuya somehow pulls through. Kaiji may not be a murderer, but he's too kindhearted and would probably feel like one for the rest of his life... don't you die on us, Kazuya!

Oh my, Kaiji accepted the responsibility quicker than I had expected, I wasn't even sure if he would in the first place. And then he actually presses the button in one single chapter?! I wasn't expecting this. I had suspected Kazuya to be forced to press it himself and for him to land on the net with his own 'demonic luck'.

Kaiji is such a good guy. He could feel Kazuya's fear and saw the slim chance he had of stopping it himself, as well as he could feel for Kazuya's contempt for the world. I think he accepted both because statistically he knew he had a better chance, and because he couldn't take Kazuya spending his last moments thinking everyone hated him. Kazuya's really become a babbling baby, understandably so, but how the mighty have fallen.. in their own murder device even.

However, even with the past experience Kaiji missed... horribly. Actually worse than his go. I imagine there's only one way they can save him left. That is by getting Chang and Mario to help him grab Kazuya's legs and pull him up, or at the very least dangle him there as the other one runs out to get more help from the black suits. If I'm right about that, it will certainly be ironic that the trio he tried to kill in the name of exposing their bad human nature.. saved him together with their truly good nature. :0

I'm excited and sad to see this part coming to a close so soon.

Knowing FKMT, it would've been more surprising if Kaiji did manage to stop it in time.
