----------------------------------------
These last two chapters have been hysterical, a kid diving off a roof, the teacher slapping kids down, the third graders somehow tying up their teacher, Sakippe's brother collapsing outside the school gate. We now know there are no means of communication to the outside world, and from the one child who left the gate we know it's deadly out there. It feels extreme, and I certainly think the kid jumping from the roof and the third graders overpowering their teachers are a bit much but I don't think assuming that the world outside is gone or anything else is that way. The children were going insane and rushing everywhere so as brutal as it was for the father to stab his own child in front of everyone.. it worked. Otherwise they may have made it out of the gate and all died. I also get the teacher snapping and yelling at Shou, telling him his parents are dead. He's going insane enough and doesn't want to deal with a kid asking him non stop questioning.

I wonder if the teachers know more about what's going on than they let on. The fact the main one is certain their parents are dead(although a reasonable assumption), and the way the one giving the announcement said they cannot leave the gates but he wouldn't let them know why makes me wonder. That being said in that case it could also purely have to do with not letting them all roam freely and discouraging any further panic by keeping them all in place. I imagine one of the first things they would do after calming all the kids down would be to go look for survivors or other people outside the gates but it seems as if they strayed away from doing at that all in the first place which is why all these thoughts sprung on me. The way about dealing with this seems somewhat stiff and artificial if not for some exterior knowledge.

There's been words like selfish thrown around quite a bit, "don't be selfish". I think the main teacher is supposed to be painted in a relatively poor light even if he's nice enough to let Shou out to cry. He yelled at the kids to not cry since they're too old to while crying himself, and as much as he's telling everyone else to be calm he's one of the most freaked out people.

It's interesting that a burglar was involved before this happened. I had initially assumed maybe the principle was disoriented from the earthquake and collapsed but the blood trail says otherwise. The fact it lead into the sand makes me wonder if the earthquake happened after they attacked and regardless of how things were they ran away in to the wasteland.

It looks like they're going to go hungry fast.. and it also looks like things are going crazy next volume. I had imagined this story to be more based on horror-esque things happening once the this incident happened but it seems more based on portraying the mass hysteria that would ensue, with Shou going as far to getting trampled by his peers.

I can understand why the kids were acting that way. They're overwrought and simply because they're just kids! Even the adults would've panicked too but for the sake of being adults, they have to guide the youngsters.

A lot of things happened in just 4 chapters. And finally, they're on the part where I'm most anxious about: Food Supplies!😱😱 Good luck to the teachers! I just can't imagine how they will manage to pacify an entire school students who don't want to starve.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!
