| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- As he was requested, Suijin takes Asahi and Subaru to distant lands where they see so many places, far, far away from their village, including the tomb of once a great king. Things were looking great until suddenly the mountain adjacent to the village they were visiting catching a fire. And the villagers were about to sacrifice a young girl to appease their mountain god. Suijin remained stone-faced as ever on Asahi's request to save the girl and the village and even tells her that he won't make a move even if she was to burned to ashes. Then she took it on herself and ran towards the mountain as a sacrifice herself. While Subaru tried to catch up with him, she started crying because of how horrible Suijin acted with her. But it was all a farce to bring the rain pouring down from the sky. As she actually cried because she was so lonely and wanted to go back to her world and leave this scary place behind. To the world where her mother is. And her father is. It was so touching as he covered Subaru's ears not wanting him to hear about her one and only wish to go back to her parents. This manga can be so hard for the readers to take. Just when I was thinking Asahi is smiling a lot now, deep down, she was still an adored daughter desperately wanting to return to her parents' arms. :'( While it was a sad sight, the priestess recognizes Suijin even in his human form. The feeling of a new storm brewing is making me uneasy. |
