Some serious self-reflection here.
I think it's well written and pretty hard hitting.

It's great that she is working through her problems, though I'm wondering what that therapist she visited did.

What I'm finding a bit frustrating is how the author keeps on dropping new information about her past that changes how we interpret her in the story. It works in the sense that we learn things as she learns things, but it makes things feel extremely convenient. It all comes down to how much we trust the author. I don't have any feeling that she is intentionally trying to fool the audience, but I do have concern she may have fooled herself at certain points.

There is still more to this story and I'm curious to see hot it all works out.

"I want to look after myself on my own, I want to know what I want."

"I thought my parents would love me more if I was a child. "I can't ever turn into a grown-up," I thought."

"I'd always tried to be thinking of my parents, but they were never satisfied at all. I'd been working for "the me trying to please my parents.""

"You can't take a break, you don't deserve a break."

"Oh, so you're a girl?" "I was scared of being overly defined by those expectations. Somehow before I was me, I was a woman." page 53.

"I don't want to be worthless."

We're all lonely creatures and there's this culture of the image. And trying to count on the older generation for good advice all the time doesn't work because they've got their bias. We all do. Wonder if we'll ever find out what her father's job is. Sometimes ya just have to go for it. Although there are no easy solutions as reading this manga has reminded me. Artist w/ a day job/part-time job, I can relate to that.

I like seeing all of her self-reflecting and how she's now trying to get better. I think it's a good lesson to not try to live based on other people's expectations.

Life has no meaning,
but that doesn't mean
we shouldn't live it
