| I don't believe it, Soyokaze is sparklingly clean and Tylor looks serious! Unfortunately they've been saved by the bell again...err the sand clock I mean, and the space garbage littered by his undisciplined pilots and marines. |

| Pretty bad, I thought. Drags in a number of places (takes seven minutes to get the premise up and running!), and it's hard to swallow. Even if Yuriko embarrassed the marines into cleaning up why would the whole rest of the crew follow suit? The marines are cliquish and I don't see why anyone else would care about this promise they made. And when did the Soyokaze's garbage got shot at the enemy? The marine boat and the fighter craft just seemed to be shooting sci-fi lasers at everything. There's also some weird dialogue right here. How do two small ships "pin down" more than a dozen much larger ones? The best part was when Tylor cheered for Andressen since it's interestingly plausible he did it to motivate Yuriko by deliberately making her angry, although his reaction to her victory doesn't really support this. She's been a bit of a one-note character. She's grumpy at how slovenly everything is. I get it! Jarjaxle said: Who Is That Bear In Soyokaze's Bridge? It's a tanuki statue. |

| SHape up once in a while okay? Ep 7. Plot: Yuriko gets the crew to shape up for once with a 24 hour clock and manages to gets things looking respectable. Then Dom's Raalgan fleet shows up. Tylor...takes it pretty well and actually behaves like a good captain on the eve of battle. But then the clock goes off. Welp back to business as usual. CHaracter: Yuriko is the highlight as she manages to not only accomplish her goals. I thought that when she challenged Andressen she may be stronger than I thought, but its only thanks to her Tylor anger that she won. So Yuriko is not that strong but she is still a strong willed woman willing to work for her goals. ANimation/sound: It was neat to see the Soyoukaze all clean. 3/5. It was a decent time waster. |

| While I was watching a youtube MTGO video, this anime came to mind for whatever reason and the name Paco-Paco specifically triggered me (in a good way). Back when I watched the anime, nothing really stood out and I just casually enjoyed the series. Years later (now) and plenty of H anime/manga later, I realized something that's a little hilarious. I don't know if I'm using this phrase right but I think it's a sexual innuendo. Japanese doesn't use C's so the name should be PakoPako (パコパコ or ぱこぱこ). When translating it, you would understand Tylor's nickname to read as slang for having sex. >.< https://www.japandict.com/%E3%83%91%E3%82%B3%E3%83%91%E3%82%B3 God, classic anime is great in so many ways. I haven't seen things like this is newer anime but I remember things like this being here and there in older anime though I'm not Japanese so I definitely miss a lot of things (like this for example). Edit: (note: Newer series may have character names translating as "hero", "chosen one", and the like that but not as more sexual things like pakopako.) |
