That was a nice and cute ending. I love how pure Taichi's feelings are, how he wants to make world where Kouhei can smile wherever he goes. It makes me tear up seeing why he's so motivated. I also like that comparison he told Maya, how normal people can feel like the same way about wanting to convey something but can't, and stress building up due to that. That's incredibly relatable, I completely understand what Taichi said. From that perspective, I think I can understand a little more about how it feels to be like Kouhei or Maya.

The conversation between Taichi and Kouhei was great too, how Kouhei didn't want to bother Taichi because Taichi is busy, or how he didn't want to make things more complicated between them. But sometimes being too considerate could lead to missed opportunity. Although that's why these two are perfect for each other, they balance each other out :) I shed a few tears when Kouhei couldn't believe what he heard, or doubted his hearing, and then Taichi saying it over and over again.

The above being said, I could've done without the almost getting hit by a truck thing which led to their final confessions. Almost getting run over or being ran over by a car/truck is just something I've seem more than I'd like in manga.

Still, I love the way it ended with Kouhei's thoughts: "Because when I see Taichi, I'm so happy." Their love is so pure.

Yeah even after almost 20 years I personally still can't forget that truck in Touch.
As for the one here I find the truck scene to be unnecessary; I didn't get the point of putting it here. Was it to scare us a little in resonance with Taichi's last words in the penultimate chapter? If it was that I don't think it was well executed.
None the less that was a good-cute ending for a good-cute manga.

That was a cute ending. I'm happy for them.

I know it's shonen ai but can I at least get the kiss? I want them to kiss!

Haha, true. I was surprised seeing that, and I'm glad they didn't make it a big deal later. I think the reaction after such a scene would be the two people panicking and smacking the other for not being careful, or crying about it being dangerous and calling the other an idiot. I've read too much of those scenes happening.

The pacing was excellent as well as the focus with Taichi's character. I truly appreciate him even though his character trope has been shown countless times, it's done well here. I could've appreciated Kouhei getting a little more light but it was just sufficient. Taichi's character really blended in well with the hearing impairment issue, I'm REALLY glad that this isn't the sort of manga that threw away that issue to focus on the love.

There was a great balance and they intertwined perfectly. Having someone who can lighten your burden about an unfortunate event and make it into something positive/coming into terms with it is a really good message. Props.

Anyway, this truly can't be the end? It's still publishing on mal, I'd like to believe the mods haven't updated it because it's still really ongoing.

Well said :) The mangaka definitely did a great job with the theme.

I submitted an update for the chapter number but it was rejected lol. I'm guessing it's because there's no official source that says it's completed so it's possible that it's not the end yet.

Good stuff.

8/10 for consistent quality. I want to see more though...

I was really satisfied with this series but it took too long for them to finally confess and to do it in such a dramatic way was kinda...not fitting?

I'm sad to see this over. I love how they didn't romanticize Kouhei's disability and recognized the reality people with hearing impairments face. I'm too often wary of how disabilities get portrayed in fiction, but this one felt like the creator did their research to the best of their abilities. By that I mean, it didn't feel like it was some throw-away concept meant to add drama to an otherwise broad genre. It showed how it affects Kouhei (in his own perspective!), and how it influenced Taichi's future career path. Their feelings developed beautifully and we're able to understand how that came to be. The ending though was a little abrupt? Maybe? I would have enjoyed it even more if we were able to see them being together after it all. The special chapter where they go camping had a lot of potential to grow on. More smooches and hugs and fluff at the end just to satisfy my own personal wants would have been sooo nice (albeit unneeded, I'm greedy tho :'l )

i really like different parts of this manga and this chapter was sweet its just not always the best executed, yknow? like their relationship is sweet, but i feel like the romantic buildup was kind of, idk, choppy? but u know, its big talk coming from some kid who's never fallen in love before

Ahhh that was amazing, I love it! Easily the best BL manga I've read in years, and one of the best ones I've read in a long while. Taichi and Sugihara have issues, but their misunderstandings weren't annoying, I could see someone being this confused with their feelings, especially homosexual ones.

One of the great themes covered in this series, is how people with hearing loss, like Sugihara or Okami, are not only often isolated from able people, but also from deaf community. In some way they might have even harder time fitting in! That's not something I really thought about before, but it makes for such a wholesome story.

Even the artstyle isn't as messy compared to the first volume, you can see how much the mangaka has grown since publication of the first volume. Some of the drawings were 10/10 for me, especially the covers!

And besides that, let me fangirl for the moment - I haven't had similar doki-doki moments since, I don't know, YOI? Oh man, and there's still more, I'm so glad I'll be able to read the continuation of this sweet couple's story! <3

For now it's 9/10 from me, I've had amazing time reading it.
