Good episode!

I liked the scene where she plays music for the kids in the class.
It was pretty sad hearing about Maria's past.

The next episode looks like it's gonna be good. Maria seems like she's more well suited outside of the nunnery instead of in it.

Wow, I didn't expect that this is actually based of real people.

Was wondering because they mentioned an austrian submarine and thus marine.

Lieutenant Georg Ludwig von Trapp really did exist, served as a submarine commander during World War I and had a total of 10 children.

He served in the marine until the end of WW1 in 1918.

But the dates don't check out.
"His wife passed away several years ago."

Spouse(s) Agatha Whitehead (m. 1911; her death 1922)

During the time that he was still a submarine captain, his first wife was still alive.

Edit:
In 1924, she entered Nonnberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in Salzburg, as a postulant intending to become a nun.

Maria was asked to teach one of the seven children of widowed naval commander Georg von Trapp in 1926, while she was still a schoolteacher at the abbey. His wife Agatha had died in 1922 from scarlet fever.

Spoiler for later in the show: She married him in 1927, although he was 25 (!) years older than her.
