It was interesting to see a Chinese dubbed anime. The movie was overall enjoyable. Would have liked to see more happen between Tiajin and his father though. Favorite part was the memory of his mother playing the flute.

I'd rate it 6.5/10.

Pretty solid movie that I had a good time watching!

The biggest problem with the movie is definitely how the focus on Tenzin's relationship with his father kinda fizzles out in the later bits of the movie once Douji becomes more important. There's that one dramatic scene with the slap, but that's it. There's no real emotional catharsis for the audience for that relationship, and that really stinks since it was the building block to Tenzin's character, it's where our empathies with him initially lie. And the monster, Rakasha I believe was it's spelling, felt a bit too out of sync with the world for me to have me engaged in the climax or him as a villain. That said, still a solid film of this mold, dog/man relationships always hit a soft spot for me. Though I do kinda like Wala better than either Nala or Douji and he also didn't get much. Madhouse production was pretty clear, really strong visuals with a pleasantly bright colour palette, and consistently on-model animation made the film a delight to look at. Didn't care much for the score, though I like that flute piece. Favourite moment of the movie was probably when Nali went backed and lied down with Douji because she actually loved him, I aww'd at the moment. I am a sap.

Decent movie, It had a nice realistic feel to it until the Demon appeared, I wish they didn't make him into some demonic creature that is 5 times the size of a human being and instead maybe into a stray dog or something. I also wished they resolved the disconnection between the dad and Tenzin as we never really got to see the dad apologizing or anything.

I actually expected the "demon" to be a bear, like the one we saw attack Tenzin. Shouldn't have been an actual demon-like creature, although the fight was still dramatic.

Pretty good watch. Best part was the group of dogs, of course, though Wala was the best. I also liked the portrayal of the culture, it seemed fairly accurate. I really want to try some butter tea!

As been said, the loss of focus on the father/son relationship was a letdown. Even a simple hug at the end would have been enough for me, but bonus if the dad married Medlam and seeing Tenzin accepting of it.

That monster also came out of nowhere. Even though it was unique and cool-looking, it would have made more sense if it was just a regular Yeti, especially with the lack of any clear motive for its rampage. Seemed weird that that thing's been around for who knows how long and yet nobody was hinting at it when the killings started. I assume a place like that would've been steep with legends being thrown about considering the brutality.

8.5 manes of gold /10
