Not since watching Basilisk have I seen a villain so despicably brilliant I find myself cheering him on. And the villain in Basilisk had devil horn hair! The search for Wolfram and how, despite winning the battle, it would've been like a loss if they couldn't find him... the tension spoke volumes about Wolfram's brilliance as a character. Seeing him hiding, ready to drop down and troll readers, was priceless. I did not expect one the best choreographed and intense knife fights of all-time to be Wolfram's end, but I'll take it. |
| Oh damn, Hilde got killed. How surprising. Well, not really. She had a death flag waving around her in the same way as many other characters of relatively big significance to the story that we could see in the previous chapters. Wolfram is not only cunning, but also skilled in close combat. It will be hard for Walter to defeat him, especially when Wolfram is rather rested, and Walter might start to get tired after searching every nook and cranny and what's more important climbing that chimney. |
