On the first episode of J-Decker, Yuuta and the cop-robot Deckerd have their (seemingly) final moments after six months (said period having a rather lovely moment in which Yuuta sorta raises Deckerd like his own son). Elsewhere, the evil Doctor Gauss wreaks havoc, and wants to steal the "Brave Police."

This is the most cutest thing I've seen in a long while. Ten mins in and you want to cry, and then you praise Yuuta, and then you want to see how it all turns out.

That was a very fun time! The character designs are pretty good too, I like those kind of messy, curvy hairstyles.
Also, Yuta's pajamas at the beggining of the episode look comfy af.

Brave Police J-Decker is closest thing we would ever get to seeing a Detective Conan/Case Closed meets Transformers cross-over.

so- it's established from the get-go that the child snuck into a supposedly top-secret near-military grade bunker, found and befriended the giant robot being developed inside, and no one hecking noticed?

awwe, that flashback montage was pretty adorable;
gian robot's first words, giant robot's first steps, and then all of the other junk,
rofl, and it was initiated by the giant robot just going "i'm gonna have all my memories up to now erased and i'll forget all about you." -immediately leading to the kid breaking down and crying, pfft,

wow, i was half-expecting that whole reprogramming-thing to not actually happen, and the bad guy of the day coming to grab the giant robot before it happened, but surprisingly nope, i am way surprised-

aww, that was... an interesting conclusion- i sure do hope the rest of this season holds the same standards as this first episode, and it'l probably be classified as "actually good" in my book.
I like to comment Episodes as i Watch them.

The Yuusha/Brave Mecha anime franchise has a lot of interesting stories. Dagwon is about super sentai, Gaogaigar's protagonist is essentially Superman, etc. And Brave Police J-Decker is no exception; it's a lighthearted buddy cop anime that features mechas. J-Decker's robot designs look excellent. J-Decker is an anime that wears its Transformers identity on its sleeve.
