THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Human Zoo? It really seemed more like a hate short against men! XD |

^ so you're the alwaysbored who wrote the comment on YT? xDD. mitsuketa ^^ I gave it a 5. Beside the fact that guy probably had some problems with his wife, it might show some actually real stuff. (not just a short against man, but a short that shows that there are some scary women too ^^") ( But that's just my idea.) |

An idea that is not interesting, a joke that is not funny, a message that is not relevant. Yeah, really great. I wish I could enjoy the extended version of this short film, +3 hours of hilariously repetitive bits of women treating their husbands like dogs. Serious masterpiece material, nuff said. 0.5/10 |

Ok, so the dude has problems with his woman. Who doesn't? Not a terrible short, but nothing groundbreaking either. 5/10 |

Anyone giving this anything except for a 1 is a pretentious hipster who wants to be cool by liking something obscure and different. It's pure trash. Deal with it. |

THIS MAKES NO SENSE. 1/10. Don't try giving this a hidden meaning, there isn't any. |

I think most people "got it" the first time you saw the woman sitting on the man, as well as other things. I have no idea why the director thought it was a good idea to repeat it for two minutes. |

This was trash. There was potential in the title, but it was anti-feminism or masculinist or anti-abusive wives or some theme that is totally indistinguishable. For a human zoo, I was expecting, The recycled seven-second clip that took three seconds to animate. If more time and thought was put into it, it could have had some kind of value to it, but as it stands now, there was no reason to watch it (even to make fun of it). |

To be fair, this was made in 1962. Were you all expecting Ghost in the Shell levels of artistic genius or what? I mean, I don't even care about the message but this is definitely getting more hate than it deserves for a short that old. |

Yes, this animation is VERY old, but that doesn't excuse it much. Animation was still a very new thing in Japan back then so I guess it's unfair to compare it to western animation around at the same time, but there still could have been at least a bit of effort put into it. Drawing stick figures humping each other inside a few lines and recording whining noises over it is not deep or meaningful, whether you made it in 1962, 2016 or 100,000BC. |

I...I don't know what to say and maybe that's the point. Guess this wasn't the golden era of japanese animation. I have now to question to humanity. |

All these fucking casuals who don't understand the deep message of this anime. Kind of makes me sad that masterpieces like this go unnoticed because of retarded 12 year olds who can't understand true art and can only comprehend shit like Mario and SAO. |

I don't know if that a was masochistic nature at its best or what?! All I can tell is that the creator sure has a weird fetish or he is conveying a message about the dominance of women over men. I think he is telling us how women can dominate men with their seductive nature and keep men at bay or zoo in this case. 3/10 5/10. |

It really seemed more like a hate short against men! XD Funny, I interpreted as the opposite. While I didn't like the short it wasn't because it was "too weird" or because "animation in the 60s was bad", and while I found the message of this film disgusting, I find this thread more so. I hope most of you are not over the age of 16. |

It's not even the age, the users of this site seem to unfairly hate any experimental short. I'm not sure if it's just that I've been exposed to stuff like this from a young age from early cable television and people of younger generations haven't or what? |

I was looking for something else and I found some random information about the creator and his work, for example, did you know that this short won 11 awards including third place in Venice Film Festival? He's now 92, he went to art school, his father was soldier and he grew up with his mother and sister (from his official website btw), he also made 40 short movies similar to this lmao |
