This movie is all a dream, and made me have some pretty realistic ones myself. Ever since I was young, the evil force in this movie has spooked me, it is so very eerie that I wish I hadnt watched it for a few years. There is nothing more scary than drowning in evil black tar, perhaps... I absolutely love his pet flying squirrel, Icarus.

Me as well, it was actually the very first anime film ive ever saw. I remember i was only 5 years old at the time but its definitely an instant classic that will be cherished. I to also had some strange dreams bout flying over cities on a magical carpet.

Used to watch this shit so many times LONG ago on laser disc. I think I still have it in my house. It was in English, I recall. Such fucking nostalgia seeing images of it again. Can't wait to watch it again, this time in Japanese. Oh my god I used to get so absorbed into this movie.

Yup i saw this in theaters in my city when i was 10 as i loved the NES game and thought this movie was based on that video game as it wasn't later until i found out that he is a comic strip character. One of the movies that got me into anime along with Vampire Hunter D, Last Unicorn, Voltron, Grimm's fairy tales and more as a kid.

This was the first anime to give me wet dreams.

I was 3 years old.
