DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, there certainly were more then few changes from the manga: some scenes were cut out, many were added and the new scenes fill some plot holes. However, certain scenes were more interesting in the manga. But how much they over-dramatized the scene with Kana... in manga Rikuo just gave her Tsurara and went away. Now I wouldn't mind it if this was manga Kana, but the anime Kana is just 10 times less interesting then her manga edition. The screentime could have been better used on the battle or more Rikou & Gyuuki screentime IMO. And where the hell is my Yuri action -.-? |

| Of course they can't take all the details from manga, and yeah it's normal that's the anime is different from the manga. Ask the person that director for the anime. This episode was good he finally remember now on his yokai form :) This getting interesting |

| Alright a good episode !! Too bad though they cut the part when mezumaru got whip by the tengu(by the way why are they in the bird form? I kinda dislikes it) but i guess grandpa part did make it up for it !!  |

| A few interesting scenes were added in, but serious what was the point of the long Kana scene? It wasn't that long in the manga, was it? They could have focused more on Rikuo and Gyuki talking, what they just showed us in the end was what happened in episode 1...right? |

| Ok, here I go with my thoughts: 1. I really liked it. I didn't see any essential changes to the plot and I'm glad that they also filled all plot holes. Not it's really consistent. But why the heck did Karasu Tengu appear in the bird form? - that I also don't understand. It's too bad. I loved their appearance from the opening credits. But I suppose the director just wanted them to be full-fledged yokai in front of humans. I get it. 2. I hate Kana. I definitely hate Kana now. 3. And I'm glad that I, at least, don't have to question my sexuality when looking at Rikuo. When he defeated Gozumaru, right after he changed his form... Rawr ^^ The best part of the episode, really. I hope next episode will be really awesome. |

But does not mean that I won't criticize some changes (tough I think most changes in this episode are good rather then bad). A few interesting scenes were added in, but serious what was the point of the long Kana scene? It wasn't that long in the manga, was it? Manga: Kana notices Rikuo (does not shiver in fear), Rikuo gives Tsurara to her, says hi and leaves. Way too much Rykou x Kana, way too much... This is bad, really bad... Just because the producer likes his generic Kana, doesn't mean he has to force his preference on all of us... Well, there will be only one more RikouxKana moment (immediately after this arc) and after that I doubt that even the director will be able to give her more pairing moments. Kana was seriously not nearly this annoying in the manga, ugh. I rather liked her actually. Now I'm really annoyed with her. I agree. I actually likes the faces she knew to make there:  |

From what people have posted it does seem like Kana is a let down, but tis a single scene in the large scale of things. Now day Rikuo almost was completely kick ass, but of course he HAD to slightly transform. I am half looking forward to the action of next episode; we going to have rikuo single handedly defeat them all? |

| So these are the improvements of the events the director was talking about? I really like it. It's a lot better than in the manga. That sword fight was done very well, as well as Rikuo's transition to Night Form. I have no gripes on the Kana part, I think it was good. AyaHira's voice is just kinda irritating to hear here, even if Kana is very nice to look at. Rikuo's fire spirits(?) to light his way was a nice trick. Now we get to the confrontation of Gyuuki and Rikuo. I can't remember what happened next but I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it again even if it will have more changes. Fanservice is subtle here but I like it :D |

I also lolled so hard at shikigami chick (forgot her name atm) all "Master?? Does that mean he's here?" UHM HELLO HAVE YOU BEEN LISTENING AT ALL FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF EPS, WHY DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE CONSTANT REFERENCES TO 'MASTER' BY EVERYONE AND CONNECT THE DOTS SOONER YOU IDIOT. Not that she's even connected the dots yet, mind you. Jesus. This show is really annoying in so many ways, sigh. The girls are weak and stupid, the main char doesn't really struggle and can always find a way to win. Where's my tension? Where's my suspense? Plot? What? The only reason I watch is for Zen. <3 And night!Rikuo. Btw I still think Gyuki is just testing Rikuo's powers, not actually trying to kill him, and this ep with the grandfather scenes pretty much hinted at/foreshadowed that revelation. |
