Since there are many games and not everyone's played them all.

As for me, I've played Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and Shadow Dragon. But I haven't beaten Sacred Stones of Shadow Dragon yet. ^_^"

So, what about you?

FE 7,8,9, and 11

I've not played FE10, and I have basically no desire to do so.

Why do you have no desire to play 10 (Radiant Dawn)? :o

I've finished at least once: Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Shadow Dragon, & Awakening.
Still need to finish: Radiant Dawn

Because it seems really slow. Handheld games tend to be much faster to play, I know FE9 was really slow on gamecube, to the point where I actually fell asleep during a few missions.

I might play it one day, but right now I'm more looking forward to seeing FE12 come out, than going back to FE10.

Isn't it supposed to be a good thing if it's slow :p? You have more time to play it! It's kind of different for me because I played FE Shadow Dragon on the DS and I found it kind of boring because even though it was fast.. there was hardly any story. After a battle, it jumped to another one without much cutscene. FE9 was also pretty challenging. I'm currently playing FE10 and it's pretty cool ;p because it's a continue of the previous installment and lots of the same characters come back with a few new ones.

The ones I played: Shadow Dragon, Genealogy of Holy War, The Sword of Flame, Path of Radiance

Currently playing: Radiant Dawn

Haven't played (but wanting to): Sacred Stones, Sword of Seals

^ ahh, slow I meant gameplay slow, not story slow.

For example, you can't skip battles, and turning animations off still takes a long time to play out the fights. It just takes a long time to finish a turn in that game.

Played all and beaten all of those. Even though Sacred Stones had an interesting gameplay change, my favorite is still Blazing Sword and each one that comes out gets progressively worse for me :(

Well the chapters are generally quite large, the maps are pretty big, so they do generally take more time to finish. In my opinion, it's only a bad thing for Hard Mode ("Maniac Mode" in the Japanese version) because you can't save mid-chapter and return to that save point multiple times. It makes it almost impossible. >_>

I've played all of them before, FE1-6 on ROM and FE7-10 owned. (I'd buy some of FE1-6 if, you know, it was possible with a reasonable [not with imports] price) Although out of those six, I've only played FE4-6 extensively. FE1-3... not so much.

My favorites are probably FE4, FE5, FE9, and FE10. :D

I've technically "played" 1-5, but I never finished them because my knowledge of Japanese is limited. Likewise 12. 6 I finished.

In all the handheld games I've gotten 100% everything. No cheats. That means for FE7/8 all the A supports with all characters and all the music.

IMO, and I'm going to be honest here. It was just horribly boring. The soundtracks and sound effects were very bland, leaving animations on took way too long and were completely unskippable.

No other FE game puts you through the same drudgingly slow pace. Certainly not the other english-language ones. FE 7/8, turning off the animations meant damage was done swiftly. FE11 whole turns can be skipped. FE9 was just really boring.

Especially considering how easy the game was. I never replayed it on the higher difficulties (there was nothing to unlock, and my copy of the game was actually stolen after some time) but at least on the normal runthrough, soloing the whole final level with Ike, then soloing the final boss with him? There was no challenge at all. Combine this with the slow animations, I literally fell asleep waiting for some turns to end.

fgsfds! FE9 and FE10 have some of my favorite soundtracks, amazing orchestration that borders on the Impressionistic Era of... eh, but I understand if it's not your thing, I just have a thing for classical music, especially the Romantic Era (i.e. Beethoven) and Impressionistic Era (i.e. Debussy), and Yuka Tsujiyoko (FE's composer) seemed to draw from those types of music a lot more in FE9 and FE10, so I'd enjoy it more.

Sounds like it's just the console thing. FE 6/7/8/11 being handheld and not needing to use as detailed graphics are more capable of much shorter battle sequences. However in FE10 you can turn sequences off completely, with no animation anywhere whatsoever. I thought this was relatively faster. Whole turns can be skipped in FE11? Please tell me how, to be honest, FE11 was really boring for me, lol.

Actually if you play it on a difficulty other than Easy, FE10 is arguably the toughest FE game there is, behind FE5. The first ten chapters are almost impossible. And you can't solo the end chapters with Ike either. There's a ton of challenge; all other FE games are pretty easy on the easiest mode, like FE8 (which is then a walk in the park). The final boss is also, if not on Easy, pretty difficult. If you soloed that with Ike, even at maxed levels, he'd likely die.

Your Mileage May Vary, anyways, everyone has their preferences; I don't enjoy FE11 that much myself, anyways.

It's under options. It's called "Skip Enemy Act."  The options are none, movement, all. None is the default, movement just skips the enemies moving (still shows the battles) and all outright skips whole turns.

I like FE 11 because of the WiFi. That's pretty much it.

I don't play them for the toughness. No FE game is difficult, no matter the setting. I mean, really, if you want to clear a high difficulty setting, just go read a walkthrough, that's all it amounts to. (which is why I like WiFi, it has real challenges which can't be predicted by a walkthrough)

I play FE games for the unlocks/replay value. FE 9 just didn't have this.

For example, you mention FE8. Yeah, my Ewan was stronger than Lyon when they fought. But I enjoyed the game greatly because I could: a) get supports and b) max stats on every unit using the shops. Both of which I did. FE9 had no support room. So there was no incentive to get the supports because there was no way of viewing them back.

I should mention though, I gave Ike Resolve. (I think that's what it was called) which increases speed and strength by 50% when health is low. One attack from the boss, reduced Ike's health. Ike then doubled the boss (much to my surprise) and each attack did significantly more damage than I thought it would, killing him more-or-less instantly. I can't remember if it was that attack which killed him, or the next attack in my turn which immediately followed, either way, 1 unit was able to take down the final boss in 1 turn.

I've finished 9, 10, and 11 and have started 7(downloaded), 8(3DS ambassador), and 12 (downloaded)
I have to start 8 and 9 over though, because my fe 10 is one that rejects easy files >_< and in fe 8 I accidentally saved after letting my babied Vanessa die ;^^
I HOPE I can play FE13, which looks awesome! Or else heads will roll >:D

I got PoR for $25 used and Radiant Dawn used for $40 both from Gamestop.. If you want new, they are expensive, yes, however some used copies are in almost new condition. My Radiant Dawn was a bit scratched, but PoR was almost perfect. It's worth it.

Yes, heads will indeed roll if NoA doesn't give us the next game. I'll let 12 pass because it's just a remake and Shadow Dragon was kind of meh (although I would still pick up 12 if they released it since it's fire emblem and the my unit feature looks interesting too...good thing it's in 13 as well. :D )

PS- I don't mean to side track the thread, but I was wondering, does anyone else think the character designs look too "modern" in FE13? I can't put my finger on it, but they lack the more medieval fair of all the previous games. I wish whoever was the previous artist (pre-11) would come back to do designs again. I loved his/her designs. ;__;

Ah yes, that's what I was planning on doing. I haven't had much luck at the shops in my area so far though, but I'll keep looking :)

So I'm really new into Fire Emblem so I haven't played many yet.
- Fire Emblem Awakening
- Fire Emblem Fates Birthright
- Fire Emblem Sacred Stones

I'm still playing Fates and Sacred Stones. I have an Emulator so I can play many other older games.
