Like it's no problem if they are married. But they are a little too close even though they are not married yet. And if they are already this intimate then they should just marry as soon as possible. Don't get me wrong but isn't it that they should be a bit conservative as it was 19th century Japan. And it's even an arranged marriage so so they should show a bit restraint. Is it normal for them to show that much intimacy even if they're not married? He's even from a noble family so it feels a bit weird considering how strict he is.

where living relationship is a trend
just how much innocent u can be..

even u said it's 19th century story

@0__Dante__0 if it's 19th century, so what's with the mindset of 2024? If they are making something historical shouldn't they make it more accurate? The whole point the anime is to give some elegant vibe. As I said if they were married it wouldn't have been a problem. If by chance they couldn't get married(hypothetically) wouldn't it be totally a waste. By this logic the ex-fiancée of MC could have been also be intimate with him. And I don't think in recent times also someone in an arranged marriage could kiss, hug and sleep together with their fiancée.(can't say that about western developed nations).

this anime romance goes painfully slow i mean sure u can understand why but it still does sure she had a rough past but to sleep in rhe same bed is not reallt intimacy at least in my opinion xd

We shouldn't look at it through our 21st century eyes, and neither should we through 1920s eyes. It's an alternate universe.

If this was really a historical anime, I believe they wouldn't live under the same roof before marriage. They would be married as soon as season 1.

Yes, this is an arranged marriage, but they fell in love with each other, so it's normal to want to be intimate and kiss. It's not like it's unheard of. Japan was and still is conservative, but they do know the concept of love. So it's not so weird to me.

@__MoRaX__ it's slow, but still faster than some current generation romance anime when sometimes even a kiss never happens after 3-4 seasons. But this anime had one really very early.

@0__Dante__0 not same room, they sleep in the same bed. And do mouth kiss and stuff. Which is even rare in "some" current gen romance anime. (That's why there's that meme about hand holding being so lewd in romance anime because the pacing is so slow and they are being oblivious)

You people are arguing and complaining about why the creators of the show aren't keeping historical accuracy or adhering to moral and social mores of the period and its pacing...
meanwhile, the characters also conjure magical fireballs and shields, teleport, use magic mirrors to have FaceTime conversations, and communicate with flying paper origami.

Just enjoy the show for what it is.

Considering Kiyoka and Miyo, yes, 100%, because the couple already are certain about themselves and their relationship and Miyo will be Kiyoka's wife or widow and mother of Kiyoka's child. Miyo will not die, because she is more powerful than Kiyoka and he will not allow such to happen, even if it costs his life.

Any historical accuracies get thrown out the window when you throw magic and supernatural powers into the basic fundamentals of the world.

Also since when were we explicitly told when this story takes place? Sure, It could be an alternate version of the 19th century. It could also be an alternate version of the 21st century with technology not being as developed because they rely on magic instead. Point is, regardless of how far technology is developed this is a fictional world.

Bro, I am from India...and yeah, here also it is pretty normal for today's generation to get involved in that type of things from a very early age. It is not a matter of culture anymore.

About the scenes in this anime...this is not like they are doing it infront of everyone or something. They have just kissed each other when they both were all alone at their place. They are not publicly showing it. Only we as audience are seeing that.
