The second half is in fact better, but 80% of people who hate Toradora! Is exactly because they don't like Taiga. So if you don't like Taiga or least feel indifferent you probably will not like the show. Personally I never felt a problem with her antics but as a male viewer my perspective is skewed by my preferance to tsunderes so it is what it is.

@UpToNoGood It is funny that the first episode of Toradora is set up for the viewer to hate Taiga, with the rest of the show being her redemption arc.

i think it is quite the same with big 3 high score due to nostalgia especially when u watched them since your childhood.. anime fan nowadays only care about animation quality, not surprised it is 2025

I didn't really like it either. I don't think it gets that much better in the second half from what I can remember, maybe a little... Many other shows clear Toradora for me e.x. Golden Time

Taiga is at peak annoying-ness for the first quarter or so iirc; she becomes more docile later on and the tiger becomes tamed- for the most part.

Don't let her character put you off, it's an anime worth finishing imo.

look i'm not a fan of series that only get interesting after x episodes but i love toradora. and that's because it actually has a well made build up. yes, taiga isn't likeable in the beginning. she's violent, annoying and difficult. but she's not supposed to be liked by the viewer. everyone in this series develops over time and taiga is no exception. you learn more about her and she becomes more likeable over time. in fact, she might be one of my favorite female leads.

i really like 12 ep romcoms because they're usually lighthearted and sweet. but nothing beats an ending that has been worked towards for some time and is more than just confession, kiss, credits.

i know it's a long show, but i recommend you continue watching

honestly, its okay not to like it, i didnt like it either, i watched it till the end hoping i'd like it but i didnt, totally normal. there are many ppl who liked it as well. theres a high possibility that u wont like it because u didnt like it in the beginning, but u should still continue if u have time

The cherry on top of Toradora! is how annoying the characters is. It's not something everyone would like, but I'd aprecciate a work that brings such strong an bad personalities of good persons; that's how humans are, selfish and kind altogether.

it's been one of my fav anime for a long time. I rewatch it a lot. But it all depends on taste. It's a bit typical for romance and you have to be able to like a tsundere girl and some wacky moments. A common complaint I've seen for this series is that people don't like how small Taiga is? But honestly, I really enjoy this show and I always say to just give it a go and decide for yourself.

I feel that is the reason for the character's existence, hence her irritating personality at the beginning, she is a teenager who does not know how to deal with her emotions and seeks to push everyone away, not to mention that she does not have a present father figure or a mother, let's see the series as what it is, teenagers learning to love and more importantly, love themselves.

Did it feel necessary to watch as “romance anime?” Yes. Is it “good?” Sure. I won’t rewatch it though, it’s pretty rough in my opinion, but I understand the overall positive view of it.
