MAJOR SPOILERS HERE

Prior to the first episode of this series there's this summarized version of the story that covers what happened to the movies (G:PT The Animation Movies 1&2, G:PT Stargazer) that's how in PT is currently being happening in this series (with new sets of characters, different from the Yuuji ones), but I'll do take note that G:PT The Animation (the first movie) it was told on the synopsis that it sets three years after the Heath Oslo incident.

Look back in the Final Episode of Grisaia no Rakuen and I remember that the original gang lived happily in some remote island in Hawaii, but Kazuki (Thanatos) decides to continue her work as the AI for CIRS (now SORD in PT) due to her brain being that powerful in decision making, ofc she'll take rests when there's no major crisis type event happens across the SORD facilities.

*I haven't touched too much on the PT Storyline in VNs, I'll suggest to look for it as well, as for your headcanons on what you should take for your ending, try play the original VN Trilogy.

@Dhanamerdeka yuuji and his harem is still alive and still living on yuuji private island

Thanatos is not really kazuki but more like a copy of her mind and no she is not dead but alive and live on the island with yuuji

Unfortunately I don't know the details, but if you look at the CG of Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion, it has characters from both parts and Kazuki's reaction to Thanatos is pretty funny.

Yuuji and Ko are enjoying their harem life on the island.

If you want more connection, Haruto is
. But that is all that mentioned.

@Dhanamerdeka that was heavily hinted in Phantom Trigger VNs.

Oh, and another fun thing cut from the anime. Original Grisaia no Rakuen VN ended with girls competing who can get pregnant first.

The winner was...

@Dhanamerdeka In general, yes, it is ideal to read VN, the first series was a very brief retelling, and this one judging by the speed of action scenes is also rushed, but here it is at least not so visible. And about Thanotos, I understand the first version used Kazuki as the core, which is why she never grew while she was gone, and then it was used by the AI, which imitate the original.Info from wiki and tvtropes, the series itself watched a long time ago, but I remember that it felt that the adaptation is far from perfect.

@ShiroAlex yeah indeed, or maybe some part was too "hot" to be adaptated, so they got rate X instead and forced to airing it at night on japanese. i think those issue on past still there now, normally something like yosuga no sora and other's who literally "Hentai" having some cut story and rework scene to make it only Echhi. maybe grisaia have those too

@Dhanamerdeka Rather the original is too huge, especially in terms of text, and the adaptation averages 12 episodes, this time at least 13 episodes, plus the movies.

@ShiroAlex the way i think, why not they make it longer
i mean they had it's own studio right? i confused why they not go with that option instead locked to 12 eps lock while they can publish on other platform and still gathering some money.....

OR maybe the anime just bait to lure ppl join the franchise and play vn xD

@Dhanamerdeka As far as I remember, it's not the studio that decides the number of episodes and yes advertising the source material is very often one of the reasons for the adaptation.

@ShiroAlex why they can't decide the number of eps? i really think it's for sure

why?
because they themself was studio, i can't think why they can't do that since they was studio so even if they make anime flooding eps each week like naruto was fine since they make their own with their own money which also can more cheap than investing towards other studio.
(edit when i almost click reply, i realize the studio was Bibury Animation Studios instead frontwing, maybe they really invest instead making his own)

@Dhanamerdeka Frontwing game publisher,so I don't think it played a major role, although it's on the producer's list, anyway glad the sequel is out, thanks to the authors for that already.

@Dhanamerdeka The first Grisaia was made by 8bit, and as for why they won't make their own, they're a VN games publisher and developer company.

@Dhanamerdeka I don't think so, and there are no examples in history where a VN game company suddenly decided to get into producing anime or movies.

@ShiroAlex that's why i think frontwing unique
other vn from them also seems serialized. which is odd since they not "that good" but it's "enough" to get serialized
that's why i think frontwing also "doing invisible hand" behind the scene

yeet still sad where the alot of part of them (grisaia series) not included on serialization where the part was crucial enough to be for the storyline

@Dhanamerdeka Well, first game а won first place in the Moe Game Award and The second installment, The Labyrinth of Grisaia, won second place, that's at least one of the reasons why they were adapted. for now being Bushiroad 50.625% controlling stake of the company, with Frontwing becoming a subsidiary, I think that answers your question.
