| I just finished watched Link Click and I really enjoyed it, 10/10, but there’s something bothering me that I don’t understand. When Cheng Xiaoshi goes back in time (in another person’s body) can they (the possessed) recount the -12 hours that he’s been in their body? It’s always hard to make everything perfect with time travel and I feel.. (I’ve watched a lot from this genre: Russian Doll, Umbrella Academy, Loki, Erased, etc.) ..like this is a “plot hole”, it wouldn’t make sense for them to forget what happened in that gap but it also would make sense to an extent- like if they could only recall the events as if they happened like their original timeline instead of Cheng Xiaoshi’s muddled one. Case A - Case B - Case X - I probably missed a scene that explains this but I would appreciate if someone would entertain me with this. (I tried googling but too many spoilers + no answers) |
| It is already implied that whenever you change a person’s history they will remember it. Episode 2, she requested the secret ingredients, Cheng Xiaoshe relive the past, Guess what happens? She did remember it because the past was relive because Cheng Xiaoshi movement direction was the point of getting to know the ingredients. That’s why The girls met at the end of this arc because of her realization even though Qiao Ling just said it. In Case A, this could work in real life too, you will get shocked because you never expected to send a message like that so you questioned “Did I really send that message”. In case B, this may be inconsistencies In Case X, you forgot that He is already familiar with his so called “friend” he said it. When Xiaoshi did relive the past it was the present/current time of the Friend During those time of murders. That’s why he is shock by the abilities to our protagonist at the last episode. Either they want something to be said from the past, they will remember it because it was their lifetime past history bringing into the current time or future. “”” Or relive the past just to know a certain information and this can’t change the future because movements here are just replaying the past while investigating the information. “”” That’s why changes of important nodes is dangerous because A person’s life is past,present,future. Therefore, the person will remember past changes. |

You are missing Lu Guang Explaination. Lu Guang Said “You can alter any events before Important nodes, If critical events still happens…The outcome will be the same”

When an important node have changed, it means alternate timeline. Listen to Lu Guang said when Xiaoshi did not follow in Xu ShanShan arc. When an alternate timeline is created, what changes made is a personal memory of the person. This means that if Xiaoshi did take control of the events, the person involve will think it was the person’s doing. This is why when 12 hours limit is done, the person next occurring actions are changing the future and create alternate timeline because it is not replaying the past anymore. It is not meaning to say the future was change. It means it sets an alternate timeline where new past did happened and the new future that will happen because of it…. The friend’s Ability is different. It is not interacting the past that’s why it can’t be a personal memory. They will not know what made them do it because it did not even happen in their life.
