I assume it was a deliberate detail and not an accident that Lu Guang wasn't injured during their fight, but when he goes upstairs to get the photo to rewind, he is.
Which means we're seeing 2 different timelines in this scene?

I'm like 99% sure Lu Guang has been through multiple timelines already in order to save Cheng Xiaoshi, but he keeps dying in every one of them. We already got glimpses of different scenarios throughout all the seasons, and the OP/ED also hint at this.

I assume the fight with Vein in this episode was also not the "original" timeline, because from what I understood Vein tries to "protect" the original timeline and "punishes" everyone that alters it, so for him to attack the gang they must've already altered the timeline. It's also weird how Lu immidately went upstairs in such a calm manner, grabbed the photo and didn't think twice about going back, as if this was almost routine for him by this point (or maybe that's just his personality, hard to say with him). I think Qiao Ling didn't die in the "original" timeline either, but she did in this scene probably because Vein killed her as "punishment" for Lu.

Man it's been a while since I last watched an anime that left enough room for theory crafting. But I think I'll wait for this arc to finish and release the English dub, and rewatch the whole thing until then.

No Lu Guang is not omniscient. He only knows what is happening within the context of a photo for the next 12 hours. So his powers has a certain limit.

Also, keep in mind that history can change as was shown in the S1 the basketball episode where they win the basketball game. The thing is you aren't supposed to change a death node which has consequences.

So what that means is that in previous timelines, the killer could be someone else and not Li Tianchen (in Ep 1 of Bridon, we are shown the killer to be Vein). Since CXS hasn't died in the current timeline, it means that history has changed and the events of S2 are different from previous timelines (this is just my theory so I can be wrong.)
@DonghuaFan okay 👌🏻

You know when you have a first episode so good that it takes you a while to realize it was an hour long?

Well that was certainly the case here where we're getting deep into one of the unanswared questions from the second season and straight into Lu Guang's trip back in time. One can immediately feel the guilt and remorse from his situation and with it can empathise more with how he had been acting up to what we knew. The chance meeting, the scammer's pursuit, the way the future manga artist's career almost ended before the trio got her book just in time. Yup, this is certainly Link Click as best as we know it.

By the end we got to see how Lu Guang introduced Cheng Xiaoshi to his powers as well as the trust he puts in him. However the mysterious character from the second season also made an appearance. A new game has started, the op is among the best of this season. Let's continue.

First episode was amazing. I would've missed the post-credit scene if I didn't check here.
