Kaito's power of wanting to protecting someone is stronger than Gaito's power gathered from the hatred of Panterossa. It overpowers Gaito and sends him crashing backwards. The Dark Lovers, forever loyal to Gaito, helped him escape to recover.

It was only in the final episode where Kaito realized that Luchia and the mermaid of his dreams are one. ABOUT TIME! Kaito, why did you fail to realize that the mermaid you've been looking for has always been by your side up to this point? D'awwww! Dat hug! What a romantic tear-jerking moment!

The Dark Lovers have given all of their powers to Gaito showing their absolute loyalty to him. Losing all their powers means losing their human forms. They're back to being deep sea fishes. NOOOOOOOO!!

Sara wants to free Gaito from his misery. She blames herself for making Gaito hate all of humanity. Sara gives Gaito the offer of making peace with Aqua Regina, but it's such a shame that Gaito completely refuses. Losing hope, Luchia sings "Legend of Mermaid" by herself. Rina and Hanon followed, along with Karen, Noelle, and Coco. The last Mermaid Princess to sing was Sara. That completes all the 7 pearls and Gaito experiences pain from the song, weakening him.

Gaito has spent days of solitude in the sea. Only the deep sea fishes were there to comfort him. They're the same fishes whom he has given human form and have become the Dark Lovers who love him and are faithful to him. He was glad when he met Sara for the first time, because she bears the same loneliness as he did. Losing Sara and everything has drove him mad, so he wished to take revenge on the humans and destroy everything to comfort his pain. Aqua Regina grants all the Mermaid Princess a new greater power to calm Gaito's heart and save his soul.

Gaito has lost. All his powers are gone, and the castle shall soon sink to the bottom of the sea. As the Emperor of Panterossa, he refuses to leave his castle. Everyone flees from the castle, but Sara wanted to stay behind, for Gaito. A new Indian Ocean Mermaid Princess shall be born and accept the orange pearl that Sara has left behind. Sara, along with the Dark Lovers (in fish form), swims to the deep trench where Gaito's castle is sinking.

Sara sings a sadder version of "Legend of Mermaid". The Dark Lovers watch the two of them together and they really look sad & jealous. I feel sorry for these four, to be honest. If only it wasn't for their undying loyalty to Gaito.....they would have been good friends with the Mermaid Princesses in the surface! T_T

Preview for the next episode is the first episode of Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure!

The last episode was really great! Can't say it wrapped up everything nicely since there are a few things that I disliked from the finale. 7/10 for the entire series, from beginning to end. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. Made me giggle plenty of times from the girls who were throwing a fit, lulz. I should be watching Pure next. :3

Quite a lot happened in the last episode. Kaito finally realizes that Lucia and the pink mermaid are the same. About time. Gaito has finally been defeated. Too bad the Dark Lovers and Sara sacrificed themselves for his sake though. Some things can't be helped. :/

Amazing anime overall. I had a lot of fun watching it! :D

Wonderful episode.
I feel so sad for Sarah. And a little for Gaito to. His relived eyes at the end when he understands he will not "die" alone.
1st Season is over now I am courious what will happen in Season 2 <3
