it is 3 years when the first season as come out, almost 4, i went and searched for some news and oly saw Crunchyroll posting photos in their twitter some months ago, i would like to ask, is there a possibility of continuing the serie? or is just dead? i dont mean on the perspective of how much they can adapt, there is plenty, but if they want to produce it purely based on sells that the anime could make. Thanks for anyone responding.

It was way to successful for it not to get a season 2

The manga is still publishing so there could be promotion for that. But I'd rather it never get a sequel if millepensee are the ones making it. How a studio with such a shockingly bad performance in every single adaptation they've made with no signs of getting better still exists is crazy. Or well, I guess that their next release, okitsura, will determine that.

This is all unfounded theorizing from me but I wonder if kadokawa or okina baba (whoever holds the copyrights for kumo desu ga) were so unimpressed by how bad of a job millepensee did, as in shit quality and delays, and don't want to license them the second season, but now no other studio wants it because they think no amount of work they do is worth the measley viewership for a sequel of an already tainted by mediocrity adaptation.

Series selling worse have received a second season, there's always a chance.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

The LN is finished, so it is doubtful that it will get another season. However, it seems that everyone who watches it enjoys it. Even with the terrible CGI, people really love the story. The production really hindered the chances of a second season. The outcry for a second season isn't enough, though. As you can see with No Game No Life, the fan base isn't enough to get a new season.

The ray of hope we have is that there was a web browser game recently made for it. If that gets enough players/money, it is possible that the anime would be picked up for another season. It's a miniscule chance, but it is the only one we have right now.

I want it so bad, but I'm in the small minority known as isekai defenders. The sad reality is that kumo is a niche within a niche with a tiny fanbase that will likely never see a second season. I truly hope I'm wrong though.

i saw something somewhere a while ago that manga or LN sales did extremely well when it was airing, and some comments here seem to suggest the same.
i would love to see a 2nd season.

0% season one was very successful so it did it’s job as advertisement perfectly. They would gain nothing from it.

All people who watched season one and wanted to read the novel already did, no one is going to watch season 2 and read the novel if they didn’t by the end of season one.

This is why most anime never get a second season

The game has recently been getting pushed very heavily to me even though I haven't searched for the anime or anything since it aired. I take that as a good sign.

This is an anime produced by Kadokawa, and they take a long time to announce new seasons, just look at Konosuba and Re: Zero, I won't even talk about No Game No Life.

But according to Kadokawa's third-quarter 2024 fiscal report, was the main title of 2021.

Yeah this anime was the biggest waste of time. the first 12 episodes could be condensed to 4 with alot of room to spare, keeping all the plot and just trimming down the MC talking to themselves, the AI saying ability has leveled up what has to be atleast 30-40 times, and fight scenes that are bland and unimpressive. felt like a montage that somehow went on for 12 episodes. And on the second half the production quality goes down the toilet, shots of people riding and horses and not moving. close ups of CGI models in dialogue-exclusive scenes is actually a war crime
