@LIVI___ This dude has 100k forum comments/threads and the majority of them is to either spread virtue signaling or spreading unnecessary controversy. Do you really think that it is wise to take such people seriously no matter if you are fan of the x manga or anime or not ? |

And like I said previously (maybe here, maybe in that thread), the only thing repetitive and predictable are the 5 threads a day made by those thinking themselves superior to the masses. Most viewers enjoy a show based on how it makes them feel, while others need to try to prove their higher cognitive powers by analysing said show in a shallow amateurish manner erstwhile ignoring the depth of quality in the writing and production. I’m simply tired of these meaningless attention grab threads. |

If you watch several other anime, you'll notice that many other shows establish it's cast in the same way in their first episodes as a prologue. Sometimes you need to rely on overused tropes in order to convey your point across, unless you'll end up like Shokomkri, which tried to be innovative by throwing preverbial shit at the wall to see if it sticks. |

Do you enjoy it? If yes keep watching. If not stop watching. It’s not there as a platform for you to seek attention on the internet. The point of mal threads is to discuss the anime, if you dont want to you can literally scroll past it. Why is everyone flaming this guy? Because he wants to discuss anime on a place where you discuss anime? |

I can see this formula in almost all new battle shounens, and I hate it. But dandadan can be worse with its constant sexual harassment from the creatures, really gross |

deg said: the formula goes like > introduce new character > some funny or scary moments > fights aliens or spirits being wacky or dangerous > sad backstory for new character then often times joins the main group later > repeat so will you hate this anime in time because of this formula? because im fine with it as a manga reader i mean long running manga usually have repetitive formula anyway right? Personally, I think repetition is not the issue. The real issue is whether each iteration of that repetition is meaningful or not. While not all Shounen anime are able to do it well, I think Dandadan pulled it off excellently for Acrobat Silky arc (saying this as an anime-only). And if we are getting this high quality of repetition back-to-back for different arcs, I am all in for it. |

Some clown who hasn’t even directly replied to the OP and answered the bait ‘question’ prefers to let their singular neuron be triggered by the replies of others! No it isn’t an honest question asked out of curiosity, it’s one of over 10,000 threads started to draw attention using the most popular new anime of the moment in a negative way whilst feigning neutrality. Pretending to like something while asking ‘will you all hate it for being repetitive?’ Is like Hitler saying’Jews are Ok, some of my best friends are Jewish, but wouldn’t it be a nice world with less of them around?’ And maybe before asking if I read the whole thing, just look back 48 hours on your MAL home page to see that OP has made 3 negative threads on the same anime in just that period… |

damn people are really triggered with just a genuine question
@nishant0 That's because its not a genuine question, its an opinionated statement posed as a question. Most any long running media can be boiled down to SOME KIND of base formula. From buffy the vampire slayer and Batman to game of thrones. Almost anything long running with a core theme will inevitably repeat, often frequently. Its about HOW it repeats its themes and the quality associated with it. That's why folks attack Demon Slayer relentlessly but fanboy One Piece... both are formulaic moving the plot forwards, but one executed other facets like world building and characters MUCH better. Plot formulas are developed because they are the motor of a story, its everything around it than functionally matters. And when it comes to Dandadan, the anime has not run long enough to loop anything... so why is it being asked here? Its just dumb. Furthermore this guy just sits around all day trying to make loaded threads to rage bait posts. One of his topics falls off so he just makes another. Hes obviously an active hater.. probibly a Bleach or Re Zero fan mad that his anime got eclipsed this season. |

But I struggle to see how you would be grossed out by villains doing villainous things if you can enjoy araragi casually sexually harassing kids. Also those aliens are recurring characters so yes it was important to the plot. The turbo granny SA also played a major role in her character. I could also say, how does araragi being a pervert contribute to the story? It just feels like a disingenuous critique if you can let it slide for another anime |

Did you just take a shot at the mangaka using SA for the purpose of “shock value”? Let me break it down for you to understand ,the purpose they used SA is for 2 reasons. 1 their race is dying and they need to reproduce 2 did you ever wonder why turbo granny jumped out of the phone? Since you can’t read between the lines it’s because it’s in her instinct to protect young girls from getting assaulted,r/ed and killed. These topics are taken very seriously and its even further proven in the latest episode. Now let’s talk about araragi, yeah its part of his character but why? Does it change the story if he was not creepy? Would his character be diminished if he wasnt weird? You can even make a case for rudeus because him being weird is just part of his scum nature but for araragi its just like..why? |

๐ค Go to a show that people don't watch much of and point out the things I like about it for a little bit of attention OR go to a show that many people watch and point out the things I don't like about it for a LOT of attention? I know saying I don't like it will be to direct, so I'll say it's "repetitive" but I like it. Saying that will make people feel it's bad because "repetitive" in relation to stories feels bad, but I won't look like I'm doing anything wrong since I said I like it! In a world where our attention IS the commodity, the answer is clear. Everyone is purposely or subconsciously learning how they can get attention. What would have been a discussion with friends becomes a post for reactions. What would have been a series of discussions, is sure to become a podcast. And the ultimate sign of bravery and strength becomes "you don't have to read/watch/listen/like/subscribe to me/my stuff/my channel/my page/etc." Yay! We've mastered "Baity" not "Rage Baity" because they can't be mad at me, just "Baity" in the sense of "made to generate engagement" on a post that doesn't even need to exist. Like we really found out today that there are formula to how types of stories are told. Are we also going to pretend that those formula along with tropes and character arcs and archetypes haven't survived over so many years of storytelling precisely because of how we respond positively to them compared to others that feel unbalanced, unfocused, or disorganized when we see them? Next we'll suggest innovating by having a story without inciting events or characters. Anyway, it's all good. Can't hate the player. Just hate the game. I'll try to incorporate what I've learned here into future posts. @LenRea and @Sandro8604 's postsare just as silly, and we should all crib ideas for baiting attention and engagement from them as well. |

I can clearly see that the first episode was made to have some kind of fun due to the scene direction, but it is all about r4p3, and not only 1, but 2 at the same time. I dont like the harassment in monogatari either, but at least there they are friends with araragi and 1 minute later they dont care anymore. It is not a series about harassment and "get my balls back" (I'd like to make clear that I just hate the anime, not the watchers. you can like whatever you want. have a nice day) |

And at least, the "harassment" in monogatari reflects araragi's inprovement throughout the story, because he gradually stops with it and get more mature. But that is not the whole point, the point is that monogatari doesnt orbit about it, and has a lot of depth and good stories that dont need those strange parts of "harassment". But dandadan is all about it..... and the direction make it fun.... that is what I dont like |

i don’t think i’ll hate dandadan over time just because of its repetitive formula, but i do think it might wear on me if it doesn’t evolve or offer more depth as it goes on. long-running stories often fall into patterns—it’s almost unavoidable when you’re working with so many chapters or episodes. but what separates the good from the great, for me, is how well the repetition is masked with meaningful character development, escalating stakes, or fresh twists. take jojo’s bizarre adventure as an example. it absolutely has a formula—new stand users show up, the protagonists figure out their powers, and a fight ensues. but araki constantly reinvents the dynamics of those battles, integrates creative abilities, and ties everything back to the overarching themes and storylines of each part. even with repetition, it feels exciting because the series has this sense of escalation and unpredictability. another great example is hunter x hunter. the core of it—gon and killua going on adventures, meeting new characters, and facing challenges—is pretty formulaic, but togashi layers so much emotional complexity and moral ambiguity into every arc. even when you know what’s coming, it feels different because the tone, themes, and stakes shift constantly. that keeps it engaging. with dandadan, the formula is fun, but it’s not quite hitting those same levels for me yet. the comedy and absurdity work well, but it risks becoming stale if it doesn’t start weaving those repetitive elements into a larger, more impactful narrative. i’m not saying it has to suddenly get deep or philosophical, but it needs something—whether that’s character growth, more intricate arcs, or surprises that break the mold—to stay fresh in the long run. as a manga, i can see why people are okay with it since the pace is faster, but as an anime, the formula might feel more obvious, and that’s where my patience might run out. still, i’m open to seeing how it progresses before writing it off. |
