Sorry that's it's most likely a very stupid question, but all I've seen on MAL and IMDB is that parts of the original voice cast (e.g both Ranma halves) are from the original anime, and some roles have new cast members. Is this a mistake from both MAL and IMDB (I've seen them both list original VAs for remake/reboot animes mistakenly before) or are the casting list actually correct

Only Ranma (Male and Female), Tendo sisters, Ryoga and Shampoo have old VAs

This is pretty normal for a remake that they have the old cast coming back for the main role and have a new cast for side characters

In fact, Ranma 1/2 represents the Chinese and Japanese culture of fighting between Karate and Kung-fu. However, the origin of this anime is Japanese, if it is the Mandarin language, the anime will not be of much interest.

It's correct. Remake usually didn't used old seiyuu because they're too old or already retired. But for Ranma, all of old seiyuus still active on many ongoing projects. That's why they're return.

This is not that uncommon in remakes, I honestly like it

Take took those VAs who are still alive and active. Kappei and Hayashibara are too perfect for those characters to change them. I'm also sure some of VAs are really nostalgic to their roles and decided to go with it.

I think this has a lot to do with culture, you know? Ranma is a mix of Japanese and Chinese culture, after all.
