English Subs have been added to Episode 2 on Netflix Japan

If you’re in Japan or have a VPN, English subs were added to Episode 2. I know yesterday when I checked they weren’t there, so thought I’d bring it to people’s attention.

From my gather the reason why a week behind it because Netflix did an streaming release for blue box in Japan! To be clear Blue box is being simulcast by Netflix and the episodes do premiere the same day that they are released on Japanese television! However, simulcast don’t always account for early streaming releases in Japan, which sometimes leads episodes to being released a week behind internationally! The same thing actually happened to My Deer Friend Nokotan, where it episodes actually hit streaming five days early on ABEMA in Japan before they released internationally on Crunchyroll & Amazon Prime!

Episode two is gonna release this Thursday! But no one really knows when the international release will catch up with the Japanese release! Blue box is a simulcast anime so episodes come out the same day they do on Japanese television! However, blue box episodes are being released early on streaming in Japan, which is something simulcast programs don’t normally account for! My best guess is at the international release. Will probably catch up to the Japanese around the time the show goes on break during the week of New Year’s! Unless Netflix renegotiates their contract to have the series international release align with the Japanese streaming release before that!

Yeah, since blue box is being simulcast, it’s international release aligns with the Japanese television broadcast schedule and not the streaming release!
