Soooo can someone explain the ending for me? Chiaki will wait for Makoto in the future, what does it mean? She will somehow leap there or they will meet when she's old and he's young? He will meet her old version in the future? Or what?

It was light and simple, but that's what gave the movie it's charm and wholesome feeling. I found the MC very likable, she's a tom boy, but she keeps making these weird faces that are amusing and adorable. I can't believe she ghosted the poor guy, only to figure out in the end she actually had feelings for him. But I suppose they're even after he left her when he explained himself during the time freeze before she went back that last time. Like if he was stuck in that time when he ran out of charges, why bother leaving, it was kind of cruel. But anyways, things seemed to have worked out much better when she leap back that final time.

Was honestly expecting more from this movie. Especially considering it won some awards and all that.

Lots of unanswered questions regarding Chiaki's background as well as his connection with the painting and the device he used for time-travel, Makoto as MC wasn't really of my liking given she kept fooling around despite having already witnessed the consequences of her careless time-leaps and man did that third act feel shallow and forced asf.
Chiaki being from the future came out of nowhere and the fact of him returning to his era without having seen the damn painting nor having confessed to Makoto was almost laughable as a movie ending. Like, did he really have to return to his era immediately after Makoto gave him his device? I mean, he only needed to wait a couple of weeks at best for the painting to be restored and he already spent THREE whole years with Makoto and Kousuke so...

5/10 - Also, what's the deal with Makoto's aunt? It seemed like she had quite the backstory to tell yet the movie totally ignored the fact of her being so... understandable of Makoto's surreal situation.

It's a few months later, but I completely share your opinion. The 3rd act really was a fumble.
Nothing was resolved, nothing explained, just an awkward non-ending. I don't agree with your 5/10, I enjoyed the movie, so maybe 6 or 7/10 for me.

Very good anime, I really liked the theme that this anime addressed, of traveling in time, it's something unique and interesting at the same time!

This was an enjoyable watch, for me personally I always like when a show or a movie goes in a direction that I wasn't expecting. In this film I really liked how only so many events happened and a small amount of time went past , but it's a movie all about time. Which means you don't have to keep track of so many different moments but only a few. Because of that, its very easy to stay in the loop that it goes through again and again.

I think it's very comedic how she goes back in time, I think this is the first thing I've ever seen where that's how they trigger it lmao. Although it seemed like the things that were going to happen within this girl's life was going to lead to some problems no matter what she did to be honest. Going back in time would only put a Band-Aid on things.

UNTIL... They drop the major plot and you see that changing time can put you into even more trouble if your not careful

Overall I liked it, but ehh wasn't mind blowing or anything just an enjoyable movie, and you know what... That's perfectly fine for me.

The Ending was left with nothing unfortunately...
