| Not much action this episode but a lot more character development between the noble families. We find that Xuxin's family, (Luo Feng's girlfriend) has a grudge against Luo Feng's commoner background and overall inelegant appearance. They've decided to ally with the couple that had their kid killed by Luo Feng and are plotting something in the warrior special camp training by using the up and coming rank 89 nephew Candice who reached the top 100 in a year. Also discovering this, Candice's peer Janet is disheartened by the news and storms off from their accommodation. This also fits into Luo Feng trying to get into the top 100 dragon list within the first month of attending the special training camp - Although he doesn't want to fight Luo Feng, Candice is coerced by family and allies; Right now it looks like Candice is Luo Feng's only opponent but it feels like he might befriend Luo Feng (might not happen since it is an irrational assumption) Luo Feng's call to Xuxin is adding fuel to the flames while all of this goes down which kind of interrupts him from his training arc grinding. Overall, nice development pace and good to see the story values last season's characters still. |
| When Candice and Janet were fighting it felt like .... "flirt fighting!" A few minutes later I guess I'm not surprised to see Janet in Candice's room, presumably they're f .. er .. sleeping together. But politics! And revenge! So ... poor Janet is about to be sacrificed. Not sure if her family is poor or not noble enough for the Polinas? XuXin should stop avoiding the issue. If she hates an arranged marriage so badly she should just tell her brother she'd rather die and see what happens. Women have a bunch of things we can do to take back our power when force into things. The only question is how strongly the woman feels about the match, and how far she's willing to go to ensure she gets to choose. |
