@thelastavocado The first half of chapter 71 made it into episode 10, the second half of that manga chapter is spoiler as of right now.

@sharydow Oh, I knew that first season ended around 41, thank you. I was planning to read firstly but then second season was announced so I started watching instead. Everyone say that manga isn't that good but, is it true?

This episode was interesting. I feel like there has to be more to his father committing lover suicide, and I’m surprised that Aqua isn’t going to pursue this mystery. I liked seeing the star disappear from his eye, b/c that makes it clear that the star represented his goals and desires. Whenever they were dark desires, the star would turn black. It conveyed that no matter what, he was always pursuing his even goals, even if it was indirectly. The only thing I didn’t really like was how lackluster the father reveal was. But I guess that could’ve been a stylistic choice to convey how Aqua felt about everything. (7.5/10)

I'm really interested in Aqua's nihilistic plot, but the action involving B-Komachi felt very dull in my opinion. The composer regaining his motivation seemed like a fleeting nod to the music industry that outsiders couldn't easily sympathize with, unlike the earlier focus on actors or manga artists. Additionally, the animation quality was noticeably lower compared to other episodes. Does anyone feel something like this after that episode?

Who tf said that? The manga is GREAT. It’s the exact same plot from Aka Akasaka and the drawings from Mengo Yokoyari are gorgeous. And even though she always complains about it, her color arts are very unique and beautiful. I love the anime-only scenes like actually showing the theater play, but the manga is absolutely 100% worth it.

Get the Glare x Sparkle illustration book too it’s so pretty. I love Mengo’s art.

As for the plot, does it wear off after a while? ABSOLUTELY NOT. It’s peak all the way to the end. And if there is a chapter or two that makes Twitter loose their shit, let them be, it’s just Twitter being Twitter.

They didn't have to flex that hard for the original Ruby-Himura scene! T_T

Wow, I guessed correctly that we're reaching Volume 8 before this season ends. Intrigued to see where Episode 13 will take place in the manga.

- Interesting how Ruby and Kana's reactions were towards Aqua. Were they jealous that Aqua didn't take them out after the party? Whereas Akane was far more thoughtful to advise Aqua about avoiding booze.

- Mem-cho is back. And she reminds the audience that earning 20K subs on Youtube is no small feat.

- "Personal belongings we show can be claimed as expenses." Yeah, maybe I should try showing off a $3000+ gaming PC, along with a 98 inch 8K OLED flat screen TV. Wonder if this works for items that I just loaned from someone/somewhere else?

- "All entertainers should live in apartments with a two-fold automatic security lock system. In the end, the scariest thing about this line of work is weirdo fans." Kana clearly wants to avoid the fate of a certain purple hair idol.

Ruby is such a cute and goofy little angel ❤️, I love to see her being the protagonist again.
And I looove Mem-Cho ❤️❤️❤️

I don't believe the searching for their father is truly over, but I sure hope it is, anything so we can have Aqua stop being a fkng sad boy lol
And I hope they don't forget about Himekawa, he is cool, they can have a good sibling relationship.

Please don't tell me the girl at the end is the reincarnation of Ai or something stupid like that...
btw, the doctor (the old Aqua, I forgot his name) was labeled as missing, so, is his corpse still in the woods? lmao
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~

I'm amazed his 1st thought wasn't to question if Himekawa was not that mans son. Meaning his mom cheated, and their real father is possibly still alive.

Now Aqua has lost his drive thanks to the abrupt end of his revenge, I wonder if that would affect his acting skill since it had been fueled so far by his revenge after all~

Pretty nice episode. Sucks that it was delayed but I really don’t mind with this show. Wasn’t as eventful as other episodes but still very enjoyable. Love that Ruby got some more scenes here and that they’re going back to the hospital. And the part with Ruby thinking back to the doctor was adorable. Kinda sucks that the dad is seemingly dead but somewhere I don’t believe it at all and also don’t want it to be true. Very curious where Aqua will go now that he mostly let go of his quest.

Am I the only one dissapointed with this episode?

I feel like this episode was just so out of place. A, like, 25 episode revenge plot seemingly comes to an end so unsatisfyingly. No interesting moments come out of it where he tells someone his actual identity (probably being saved for later), or anything like that. Even if he is going to come back with his revenge plot later, why does it have to be such a dissatisfying 'end'? Why can't it just be a cliff hangar so I don't feel like 80% of the story just went to sh*t. I love Ruby, don't get me wrong, but we just spent like 5 episodes on Aquas anger and how it fuels his acting and plans and its just out the window now. Like what?

This episode had a solid amount of things moving forward. Aqua still seems to be troubled with his current situation, his feelings of revenge popping unconsciously and allat. Then we have Ruby being a super proactive person lol. Looks like Aqua is going on the trip with the others too, to the place where he was murdered. And hey, we got a mysterious creepy crow girl appearance at the end as well lol.

Never ending plan to watch list...

After the week break Oshi no ko is back to deliver a change of pace and tone in the show. Himemiya delivered the news that Aqua's father died many years ago in the double suicide hence his revenge is now meaningless. But is his aim truly done? I don't buy it, there's no way someone who has been that motivated by years would not pry into why that event happen. I'm guessing with the visit to his previous hometown something will spark and change his mind about this.

Also, Mem-cho is finally back after the whole stage play ordeal and the one who seems to take things in a more funny direction. The season is not done and I feel like there's gonna be something happening right at the end. Not sure what though.

siiighhh

Okay I get what this is going for with Aqua wanting some way to move away from his quest from revenge, but the way of doing it expects me to believe that Aqua is an actual idiot. If what Himekawa's saying about his father's death is completely true and we're going by it happening when Himekawa was five, then it's physically impossible by Aqua's own logic for his father to have ordered for Ai to be killed in a way that doesn't have a borderline comical amount of forward planning. Even giving Aqua the benefit of the doubt that he's in a shaken emotional state, there's no way that he would ignore a hole in that logic that's THIS glaring and apparent. It doesn't seem like the show intends to frame this as him ignoring that hole, it's being framed as an open and shut case.

It would be hilarious if the ending to Aqua's entire character arc was "your dad was some loser deadbeat that killed himself, lol" and also insanely terrible writing. I don't know why anyone here is even remotely convinced that's the end of it. And on the off chance that it is the end of it then this should go down as one of the greatest squibs of a storyline since Game of Thrones ended.

A SHORT LIST OF PROTAGONISTS who missed their revenge by the premature death of the subjects:

- Reinhard von Lohengramm from «Legend of the Galactic Heroes»
target: Emperor Erwin Josef II von Goldenbaum

- Thorfinn Thordarson from «Vinland Saga»
target: Askeladd Orafson, in autonym: Lucius Artorius Castus

THERE ARE ONLY MASTERPIECES!! And all these stories get more and more arousing after the heroes' re-emergence from the collapse. Do you know anything more? And what's coming after these?

Whichever Aqua will be, you can rest assured that "Oshi no Ko" is guaranteed to be a classic.

Oh, these two are both blond. Aqua has a chance!
However, a younger brother of a sister, each. Hmmm...

It's good to see how Acqua would act if he wasn't constrained by the need for revenge. I don't actually mind some B-Komachi stuff after we got so much focus on him, but maybe the end of this season has something else in store for us.
