First .. Let's speak about pacing , too slow , boring and far from reality

But you didn't solve the problem , the problem that you see the story from your point not from the MC's points , that they were trying to say it so many times
From the beginning of the show , we aren't like the others , this story is different , left any romantic story you saw before behind you , and see this show like you didn't see any romantic ever before, to know what is going on here
And about far from reality, how ? Two people don't know any thing about love
Don't know how to act with people, they were afraid to do that
You will ask , where are there parents?
Running for the money , life is hard , this is reality and from the beginning they were strangers from each other, see now where they are , and where they will go , this is the days with my step sister, the life story with love in it
That's was .. the second point .. about the MC's are having no feelings and ther reactions too weak
You don't know what is the meaning of lonely, this is the first enemy for the humanity that's fight that saki told yuuta about it in the second episode
Each day we are going in fights ( just like fight against lonely) against ourselves , long lonely makes you without feelings , that's fact reality
( And I want to say something if you say there's nothing in the story like that what you are saying
Don't say that, respect me As I respect you , and think of it for once

Third .. senpai and maya
Who didn't understand that, yuuta gives us the answer on the episode 7
That he can't be with Senpai or maya , why ? because they are opposite with him , you will ask how , when saki asked him in his room that he like to be alone , and he said yes , I don't like to be with people I don't know , because he doesn't know how to act with them , Senpai is more cheerful than him and maya too , but who is like his personality? The answer is saki
But in the future, Senpai and maya will have big role in this story
Last problem animation
I think studio citoca in music and studio Dean are having awesome work on this show for real too many details in the animation and music too
And the producer this man who produced the same anime boku no hero
And the dangerous in my heart, and he was the chief producer in the angle next door spoils me rotten
So this animation is great realistic peaceful relaxation wonderful anime
And that's it
So I don't judge on you guys but , give it a try till the end , this show need to have second chance till the end of this show ,

Same here, it’s so atmospheric and thoughtful, but nobody kissed or confessed yet so it’s slow…

not going to sugarcoat it went into this thinking it would be a very nice show.
the art is great but man the pacing fucking sucks. that last episode was especially brutal to watch. I like romance shows just as much as the other person and idgaf if they dont kiss or confess right away but the whole NOTHING burgers episodes are just dreadful to go through. flashbacks & monologues galore.

She doesn't need a full episode of nothing just to realise that she's simply jealous. Other shows manage to accomplish the same goals while still having a good viewer experience. its literally like i saw in another thread: its just slow burn. You can be slow & and still somewhat interesting.

when im conflicted about a show i always tell myself: would this show still be great if the art was complete dogshit? This anime would be unwatchable at times if it wasn't carried by the animation.
Even new settings just help: all we see is the apartment, the elevator, below the highway, the bookstore and that's it.
We spend 11 mins of a 20 min episode just reading through her diary for feelings that are already expressed in previous episodes. Other characters are just there they could vanish and have no impact on the story whatsoever despite them being on the cover. (the worst part is all their friends are smarter than they are).

we're halfway through the show and it has accomplished nothing. matter of fact we don't even know how the guy feels pretty much because all the emotions shown to the viewer are from her pov that take ages to somewhat develop. talk about depth lol we know nothing about the dude.

ranting but damn wasted opportunity of an anime imho
