I always used to binge watch any anime even slice of life ones. I have been watching some shows of this season weekly and realized that many shows especially slice of life/romcom anime can't be enjoyed fully by watching at once. For example I am really enjoying Gimai Seikatsu this season which I am sure will become boring real soon if someone binge watches it. I know this is somehow obvious, but I am certain many of you also binge watch every anime if episodes are available.

really? I guess there was a break at that time between weekly release. If not then you would have to watch 918 episodes in less than 2 weeks.

Slice of life animes are great but just like you said if u binge watch them it feels like the story is moving quite slowly and then when u r at 2nd last or last ep you get a thought man I want more, that’s how it is for me for slice of life ones.

I always try let the anime finish airing all thr eps so I can binge watch it but this days you never know how you might get spoiled. So I watch the popular ones after 6-7 eps mostly and then continue watching them weekly.

Depends on the anime and the theme.

I don’t think I could binge watch Monster. I need to let an episode stew a bit.

If it’s something light and fun, then I can knock a lot of episodes out at once.

Man I used to binge watch animes all the time too. Now, I kind of lost that ability. I have binge watched only 1 anime ( dungeon meshi) in the last 9 months. I am kind of free nowadays after my entrance exams but still can't bring myself to binge watch a show.

I used to watch 50 episodes in a day( code geass) during my darkest times.

For me, it depends. There are anime where the plot is very episodic, like some Slice of Life or typical school anime. In those cases, I prefer watching individual episodes.
However, when the plot is more complex, or certain storylines span multiple episodes, I definitely prefer to watch at least part of the anime in one go. That way, I don't lose track of the plot or the impact of one event on another.

That's not working from home. That's being jobless if you managed to watch roughly 12.75 days worth of anime in 14 days.

@habib_kun they are no correct way everyone is different and everyone don't take information at the same speed making it that binge or watch weekly whatsoever it is it's only on the person. It's not something definite what work for you won't work for someone else it's how it is.

Binge, that's why I wait until an anime has fully aired, for some I've taken breaks while watching splitting it into a couple of days due to either the anime itself hitting hard or external factors. Then whenever I feel like it go and rewatch some of my favs.

yes, i almost completed 1k series. Along the way i found that the majority of the series are fun to be binte watch. But there are several of them that can only be watch one eps at a time, considering the pace and the plot. Most of them should be enjoyable if you doesnt binte watch it. For me, i cant binge 3 gatsu no lion therefore i dropped it. Anytime soon i hope i will repick the series and complete it since other said that its a good series

It really depends on the series. For example i can't just watch one episode of the Spice&Wolf relaunch or Hibike! Euphonium, i usually wait(ed) at least two weeks to be able to get a double portion.
There are also shows i watch every week, Gimai Seikatsu is among them, so is Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga nai. Somehow these shows are 'filling' enough with one episode, it's hard to explain.
When i decide to rewatch a show i usually binge the hell out of it (considering the time limit of being a wagie and all).
TLDR:
I think it's best to digest new series in smaller portions and binge classics you already know.

Series’ are made to be watched weekly. You’re able to engage and reflect on things that happened in the episode for a while before diving in to the next one which solidifies the experience of the series in your head as something you experienced for a period of 3-6 months of your life as opposed to a single day. When you binge you tend to only remember major story moments, but watching weekly allows you to remember and appreciate the small things that make that series special. Netflix has unfortunately created and perpetuated binge culture that values instant gratification over long-lasting contentment and I would encourage anyone who binges everything to try watching even one season show as it is releasing next season, engage in the weekly episode discussions without any knowledge of what’s coming next, live in a spoiler-free world for that period of time. It has enriched my life significantly.

I can't binge watch many anime as I sometimes lose interest. The shows which have really hooked me up, I have been able to binge watch and enjoy the show thoroughly. That's why I also watch many anime together sometimes. Sometimes I don't want to binge watch as I don't want the show getting over too soon.

if the show is plot driven I'll binge it but if it's a non non biyori I watch a couple ep at a time. the best choice I made was waiting to start attack on titan until the series was finished hell of a binge

yes, binge watching a plot driven show helps to understand and connect everything

but recently I watched the last two episodes of Demon Slayer Hashira Training arc weekly and really enjoyed it as I saw hype building over the week

I love to binge, but I don't binge slice of life unless there are comedy. Gimai Sekatsu is the last anime that I would want to binge, though. Its slice of life but have 0 comedy and its pacing is too slow along with its monotone dialogue.

Usually I want to binge but I would like to watch each new episode of Gimai as they are released. Some people are not okay with bingeing this. I understand, but I do.

Anyway, I just finished my bingeing of hitherto released episodes. There's so much I notice that I am gushing over it, and that's my binge experience. YMMV.

Gimai Seikatsu invites analysis of its details unlike the usual run-of-the-mill anime watched by people with poor taste who are shiting on this obra maestra.

Quite the contrary, in my case. I typically binge watch. If I don't, there's a highly probable chance that I'll lose interest and drop the anime. I enjoy anime the most when I watch it all at once.

Sometimes, this applies to manga and light novels. I binge read and when I've caught up, I let a long amount of time pass (several months and longer) before picking it up again.

Most airings I leave them to binge, at my pleasure, watch everything at once after it is finished, or here and there, now what I don't do is waiting weekly, even when knowing the source material, just not worth it for most cases.
