I haven't watched past episode 1 or read the manga but from him mentioning Japan and his whole fake shaman seeing into the future thing sounds to me like he's from modern day Japan (and knows a lot about japnese history)who has ended up back in time Isekia'd or whatever than him being just mistic,I am reading too much into it or is this true ?

Probably not we dont know yet. He does share the same name as another Suwa Yorishige but from another period.

Yeah I saw that he's a real figure from jap history too , but I was talking with context to this anime in particular although him being a figure around that time does make this theory a bit invalid

It sounds to me like a quirky Anime-Character, with a superpower, you know....

I think the whole seeing into the future or talking about the future is just some quick humor the show does. I don't think ir means he has superpowers or anything.

in chapter 109
after Yorishige sacrificed himself to help Tokiyuki flee back to Shinano safely but Tokiyuki didn't let him die on the battlefield. Tokiyuki rescued him but Yorishige couldn't survive he had to use his divine power in order to survive a little bit more and do whatever he can to support Tokiyuki before he died so he gave Tokiyuki Hojo clan's treasure aka the Onimaru Kunitsuna as inheritance of Hojo clan and Shizuku his ability to see the future and ofc Shizuku saw modern day Japan (the first thing she saw was the future that she became an office worker or something with infinite deadlines lmao)

that's right Yorishige is death

(im not a native english speaker so pls forgive me if there is any mistake in grammar and spelling)
