Worst Dubs Ever

Watch something with dubbing so awful that you wanted to rip your hair out and stuff it in your ears?

Hmmm, there was this one anime I saw on TV, Virus Buster Serge. The dub was seriously the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. I made it through about the first ten minutes of the first episode. I would say to look it up to see what I'm talking about, but you really shouldn't; its that bad.

I got two for you. One in actual voices, the other in modified content.

First is Azumanga Daioh. The voices are tolerable at first as characters are introduced, and then Osaka comes in to the picture...oh dear. Let's just say I still have nightmares over Osaka's dubbed voice.

Then is Card Captor Sakura. The voices aren't bad (even Keroberos wasn't terrible), but they modified a bit of content to make the show more "child friendly." The main thing that was changed was character relationships, especially Tomoyo and Sakura. They modified the dialogue so much for Tomoyo just because they wanted to eliminate the fact that she was in love with Sakura. Same thing with Yukito and Touya. I'm so glad I finally got to see the series in Japanese. It makes a hell of a lot more sense.

I haven't seen the dub of Azumanga Daioh yet, but I will. I will.
And then Card Captor Sakura was a favorite of mine when we were younger, but you knew that.

I've never heard of Virus Buster Serge. I'm going to go look at some point. xD

I think that the worst dub that I've seen would have to be the One Piece 4kids dub.
All that needs to be said is, "Poor Sanji".

I had completely forgotten about the 4kids dub of One Piece. Probably because I've been trying to forget for the last three....of course Sanji is the worse off of everyone: sounds like Sylvester Stallone after a few beers and a ton of morphine shot into his jaw.

I've only seen about three episodes of the dub of One Piece, but it's still what I instantly think of when I think of bad dubs.

The worst dub I've ever seen is definitely the 4Kids version of One Piece. Not only were most of the voice way off from their Japanese counterparts (not to mention just outright annoying), but they made a lot of unnecessary edits to the show. For example: poison suction cups. I rest my case.

I was also less than impressed by the original DragonBall (or maybe DragonBall Z), where Goku's named had been changed to Zero.

Okay, I recently started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion again, and I just realized how bad the dub is. Most of the minor characters deliver their lines really...flatly. There's one particular female character who talks with the same tone change all the time (happy, surprised, casual conversation, etc.).
