| I personally never made that connection, I can’t really say and it never stuck out at me as being the case but who knows. All I know is this is a story following the real life samurai Hojo Tokiyuki, the basis of his story here pretty much follows the real life events of the Siege of Kamakura. So if anything I’d probably say Blade of the Immortal was inspired by the fall of the Kamakura shogunate and other historical events like it. The fall of families/clans throughout the history of Japan is a common plot point in Japanese historical fiction stories. |

@Merve2Love Yeah that sounds about right. If it's based on real history then there is no inspiration since Blade of the Immortal is completely fictional.
