I just finished episode 10, and it feels like Makoto is a total afterthought. Every episode is 90% side characters or people I really don't care about. Does it ever refocus itself or will it be like this all the way to the end?

Thanks!

Just keep watching … it re-focuses
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

a lot of people think this season is a disappointing, including my self.
22 to 24 episodes are what you are weighing for

Just for perspective, if the show put a high percentage of focus on Makoto, the developments in the demiplane, the church and government scheming, the strong assists from the 3 new family members carried out under Makoto’s orders would have to be delivered via dialogue in long info dumps. Currently there are dozens of complaints most weeks because a certain anime about a slime is ‘boring cos of all the yapping’… Isn’t it better to have focus on the whole story directly by following all the concurrent storylines than force a load of 2nd hand waffle? Or maybe you want Makoto to do everything himself in an OP powerplay? It doesn’t matter how the production company do it, someone will complain…

@FutoiOtaku Partly why I like Reincarnated as a Slime or Tsukimichi. Even if the MC is all powerful, they can't solve everything with power, which a lot of other shows are lacking for the most part. Power may be nice, but it doesn't solve many of the other problems that occur.

I love both series because they don’t treat the audience like idiots. Sadly, some idiots do watch tho, hence the complaining…

I think the serie focuses a lot on other characters but I hated those heroes parts. The development is slow imo. But I'm happy we are getting a 3rd season. I like this anime as a funny chill isekai parody lol.

thats an understatement, I understand complaining if the anime cut alot of the story out, like Arifureta from common place to worlds strongest. bastards completely gutted vol 2, but some ppl just like to complain. slime is doing fantastic, yes it's a lot of talking this season, but there's a lot of talking at this point in the novel. I rather the anime to be loyal and true to the source than to have them fuck shit up trying to make it "better" or "more entertaining"

This season sucks. Episodes 1 to 12 were fine, mostly hero introductions, but episodes 13 to 18 or 19 sucked; they barely focused on Makoto. This anime started to go downhill for me after the teacher thing and that dragon thing, and then after that, it got good again after episode 20. My rating dropped by 3 points compared to season 1, which I rated 9
