I wil blame MAPPA for this for doing zero marketing for this anime. Besides, there are a bunch of clowns inside anime fanbase now. if this was a bunch of waifu playing baseball it'd have been rated over 9 like frieren and other cgdct animes. It's a solid over 8 rating anime can't take myanimelist ratings seriously anymore.

No Cgdct or female sports are Over 9 rating. Infact most of all female sports series are below 7. The rating is 7.45 currently, which is high for anime of this quality.

I'm the first to say general rating has been broken on this website for years but 7.45 for this is almost perfect, it was good enough and its reflected right, not a masterpiece but better than decent

Not sports though, I was talking about normal cgdct animes. All of them are about idol or music and getting more cliche but still getting higher rating while many good animes are getting unobserved. After BTR dropped it has increased more. But in Boukyaku battery's case the animation was great cause made by mappa and if there was waifu characters people would've surely jumped more.

Yeah this wasn't something masterpiece but I also don't think it's a below 8 rated anime. Generally, a good sports anime gets a more higher rating.

Well, that might be true but I don't think OB can be considered a "good SPORTS Anime". They do play Baseball and it plays a big Part in the Story and all but it doesn't really focus on it...? I mean, If I watch a good Sports Anime then i want to learn about that Sport as well, especially If i don't know anything about the rules or Terms yet. OB doesn't really teach us anything about Baseball aside from maybe 1 or 2 Things (Like "what is a lefty?") so in that regard i wouldn't consider it a good Sports Anime.

But that doesn't mean that it is a Bad Show. The focus just lies somewhere else, like the Characters or the Comedy. Though 12 episodes nearly aren't enough to learn everything about all of them without rushing it too much so we gotta make do with what we got to decide on a Score which is why a 7 definitely isn't bad in that case. Honestly speaking I expected it to be a 6 at best like most other male "Sports Anime" with just 12 episodes.

And btw as far as I know Diamond No Ace is considered to be one of the best Baseball Anime and yet every season of it only has a Score of 8. Kinda weird, huh

I think this is fairly rated... I'm a baseball fan, and this anime failed my expectations as a baseball anime, but kept me watching as a comedy and character drama anime instead, but those last 2 episodes were on fire... If you want some greatest baseball anime, then watch Major, one outs and Ace of Diamond.

Well I also think this anime deserves higher rating and more attention. It’s just very hilarious and some episodes were dramatic too. But the most important thing is the characters, they are very interesting and well made. But honestly I’m happy that the rating now is 7.45 as before it was much lower than this. I guess episodes 9 and 10 made the difference, they were the best episodes I would say. However all the anime was quite enjoyable in my opinion.

Yeah if you want to watch just a baseball sports anime then watch ace of diamond for sure. But this anime comedy was quite a change for a baseball anime. It made it really enjoyable. Major also is a good baseball anime though with quite dramatic scenes and little romance, which makes it not only a baseball anime I would say. ^^
