The All-Cast Chinese New Year advertisement at the end shows an interesting gathering of the main cast of this show.

just as i was starting to like this show and enjoying the previous episodes, they hit us with this crap. the time jump is fine, but it largely felt like one of those "explainer" episodes that they give to the audience after a lengthy hiatus or when a new season starts up. or a way to introduce new viewers to the mechanics of the show. it was awful. and the "cultivation" i thought was really dumb in this episode, too

here's to hoping it gets significantly better now that the demon chef is dead and, presumably, the mc must go out into the world on his own and we get some real storylines going again

9 year later time skip... (it's written in chinese at the beginning of episode)

But why the time skip? I thought he was still being chased and still learning about cooking?

So we don't get to see all those and suddenly he's all grown up.

.

Also, Master dies...

And then after episode Chinese New Year special "Happy" appears... LOOOOL

This is what happened when you scheduled weird timing that cross-path with CN new year. And you CAN'T not have CN New Year in a chinese show... it's almost like a unspoken law in China. People will riot more if you didn't accknowldge CN New Year.
