“Tbh” it’s the author fault for clearly teasing incest and then being a bitch and not following thru. Like most other authors. Just weak. Just because *you* didn’t think it was going anywhere doesn’t mean that was the consensus.

"incest is wincest" jokes are kinda fun but they honestly must be weird for believing "incest ending" will be shown in mainstream series, no editor would allow it.


As for Aqua & Kana fans, we played long game but it seems we finally won! ...but I doubt it will be that easy, the worst thing that can happen now is for MC's father to kill someone from known characters.

the author gives us a whole chapter to present Aqua and Kana's feelings even though we've known it for I don't know how long with Kana's depression arc, it's as if the author wanted to force us to love this character, akane will always remain the best anyway too good for aqua, and the aqua x kana relationship is so forced that only one taste comes out with this kind of chapter which still forces on something that we have known since almost the beginning of the work

@iBurn except it’s not so nice try lol. The incest stuff definitely stumbled but this series in general is far from ruined.

Even incest route was 1000 times better than classic BS i could read in any other romcom.
What he meant by "SHOCKING ENDING" in his interview - i have no idea.
I will be happy with any result except boring AF Kana's route.

Lol, the authors have taken an intereting premise, developed it well setting up multiple plot threads and introducing a host of interesting characters, and they're now completely ruining it to accomodate lousy fans' whishes of the umpteenth boring romcom feel good story. If Aqua truly gives it all up and there's a good ending for everyone, this will fall off as much as it would if became turbo edgy with Kamiki killing everyone.

Oh well, another piece of media ruined by commercialisation. It was good until it lasted.

I guess the dumb heated arguments on incest (from both sides), a single aspect of the romcom component of OnK, perfectly encapsulate why this extremely boring and banal course was taken.

@Lost_MattiX it’s not ruined or boring, I really doubt Aqua would just give it all up just to be with Kana even if Gorou says it’s fine to let it go. All that work all these years and more just to stop for Kana feels wrong. I get he shouldn’t lose himself and all to vengeance, but still I really wouldn’t like it if Aka decides to just stop Aqua’s progress at the last minute

@Dxjetwin37 Nah, they've already squandered plenty of potential with the latest chapters, from removing the mystique around Crow girl with that poor flashback to trivialising Kamiki with the trite sympathy for the villain and making him a bloody victim of circumstances forgiven by Ruby, because Ruby now is done with character developmente apart from the brocon/dilf issue I guess, but they solved it in this chapter with a few panels, and they also got rid of Akane as a romantic option, so now it's all about Kana. And what was of all the damn hints we got of Aqua being close to cracking under pressure? What about Ai's psyche, or is it just that banal explanation we got?

Honestly, it's not like they still don't have room to explore a few angles of the story and bring it back to, say, 30 chapters earlier, but they need to quit it with the Aqua/Kana drama goddamnit, I don't give a damn about the umpteenth romance with a stereotypical bratty tsundere - the day we get rid of this bs archetype is still too far away.
