Ruka is kinda not a great guy, he can be nice, but sometimes he does the worst choices. Ren is better in my opinion.

Ruka is basically stringing her along because he knows he will be leaving her for his destined partner when he finds one and he’s kinda selfish. I think Ren is better although he can be immature as well.

Ruka totally, I loved him from the start, he's not the smartest guy but let's be real here, he's a socially awkward otaku vampire and is also currently having a gay panic crisis and conflicting feelings about what he should do regarding wanting to care for Mito but also being pressured into finding his chosen partner. I don't agree with everything he does and he is pretty damn dense, but I still love him because he's just a dorky adorable sweetheart to me~

Sorry y'all but I do not like Ren, he gave me bad vibes from the start, I hate "love rivals" in romance in general and he really doesn't offer anything better than Ruka imo. He's just an edgy emo boy with uwu sad past who makes advances on Mito without her consent (ngl she's also partly to blame for this for not putting her foot down and establishing any real boundaries, playing with his feelings, etc.), but yeah also the whole blackmail shit of "go out with me if you don't want me to reveal your secret" left a really bad taste in my mouth.
I have read ahead in the manga up thru vol 6, which is where I expect the anime to end off at, and not gonna spoil anything but yeahhh y'all are not gonna like Ren by the end of this, I dislike him for a good reason.

Also I just think Ruka is more handsome lol

I think both guys are poor choices as romantic leads. They’re both idiots who are easily manipulated by others and can’t see what’s right in front of them.

Honestly, Mito needs to kick both their dumb asses to the curb and become vampire queen all on her own. Then, create a harem of beautiful men whose job it is to please her and protect her (if she actually needs protection).
